Nah the mods not dead, sadly we're not progressing as fast as we would like due to lack of character artists.

So if anyone knows any half decent character artists please get them in touch with us on our forums at www.28-months-later.com..

Sorry for the lack of news, btw if anyone is interested in doing some PR work for us please get in touch with me, we could really use some help there, as i am so tied down with work at Crytek, so i dont have time to write news on every fan site.

Just to clarify. The first version will be for crysis warhead. If cryis gets a patch to bring it onto the new version of the Cryengine then we will release it for crysis too.

BTW we fully agree with infected not zombies. We aim to be as true to the movies as possible.

Yes Chris. You will be able to use all our assets to make new maps for 28ml. We will include most of the cry files too so you can even edit the official maps.
We will also have an autodownloader in the mod, so that your custom maps will be played.

Bigtom your not going to be dissapointed there. We will be allowing the mod commuinty access to all our assets and even the original cry files, so that you can make your own maps for 28ml.

those are just models in their default pose. Wait untill you see the model animated or posed before you declare them infected or whatever. These could just be corpses. :)

If you pay attension to the beginging of 28 days later they talk about outbreaks in america and other parts of the globe. A virus of this scale would travel globally, think birds, vernin, insects, human error...

Please bear in mind that is a very early screan shot and is focused in on a small area of a large map. I do agree with you so I will pass this feedback on to the designer of the map. Thanks

Tell me about it ;) We have 1 or 2 dedicated modellers assiged to each map, so they're getting loads of custom models. Ontop of that the modellers make the general models too like vehicles and weapons. I can tell you now this isnt going to be a small mod, but it will be worth the wait :)

We had this very discussion yesterday in our meeting. At present the plan is to heavily deduct points from the player for a suicide. We also talked about changing you automaticly to an infected on a second suicide. We do belive suicide should be part of the game, but we dont want it to be over used. We will tell you more about this in a future update.

Otreum we will move into monthly updates once we get a bit closer to the first release date. Keep an eye out though, I'm not saying there wont be an update next month ;)

Micah, as mentioned in the singleplayer section, the stories will take place at any point between the start of the infection up to 28 months later then that. So some levels will be really dirty and overgrown where as other levels will be as clean as they are today. You will get a good vartiation, and dont worry about it being scary, we've really got that taken care of :D

Thanks ColonelJHCoxSG-15 for calling us "Idiots". We apreaciate that. Now I sugest you do a little more reading into the mod, because you will see that we are staying very true to the films. Zombies is just a more simple term for infected, thats basicialy what they are. Infact i read an interview with Danny Boyle where hey actually refered to the infected as "zombies". So excuse me and my developers if every now and then refer to these ill humans as zombies.

Now for anyone who actually cares about the mod it's self, i apologise for the late news update, there has been a hitch with people going on hollidays and such. Its coming soon. Stay tuned :)

That's a silly comment. Some people make mods for the love of modding. Not to win prizes. This mod has been made for a comunity that is focused on heavily organised team play. We're not making this mod for the masses, it's for the elite few that dare to be different. So there is nothing pointless about this. The mod has been running sinse the 2142 beta and many of the original fans are still playing. I would say thats quite a success.

Not Dead - Didn't you declare us dead before? Listen we dont have an active PR team, the rest of us dont have time to keep updating all the sites we have posts on. So updates will be every 1 or 2 months for now.

The M29 and the M8 wont be in the first release, but we may do them in a future release, if that is what people want.

We wont be making the infected scared of the light, but it will be advisable for the infected to take advantage of hiding in the shadows as torches and night night vision will not be a standard equipment item. You will have to find them and attach them to your kit. Nightvision goggles will be very rare and only used by the military, there will be nightvion scopes though :D

Sorry guys for the lack of updates. I can assure you that this mod is most certainly not dead. My apologies for the lack of media, but Im sure you would prefer we dedicate our time to making a good mod rather then promoting the mod.

Right now we have half the SDK so we are working on importnig our models into the cry-engine 2. But we still cant edit the source code. The plan was to release our next update when we got the full SDK but Cytek seem have managed to drag that out for 4 months now!

So fear not we have dedicated 20 developers working hard to bring you the best mod possible.

To answer your question about will the mod work with your PC; if your computer can handle crysis then you will be fine playing the mod. Again sorry for taking so long to get back to you.

That would really restrict us though with where we can go. With 28 Months Later we're going to be following the infecteds campain to take over the world. Each full release will have a new campain. The first is the French campain. At this time our mappers are working on maps in Paris and the rural area near Cognac.

Well here's another thought for you. Its been 28 months sinse the virus was first released, the virus has spread most the way around. In which time is been multiplying diving replicating and all that other stuff that viruses do. Now whats to say this time the virus hasnt mutated? Just food for thought, tbh we're still undecided on this matter :)
