They call it open-ended, but it's not open-ended. Oblivion is a lifeless sandbox game that tripped and fell down the uncanny valley. The much publicized radiant a.i. is an aborted fetus. Except for some of the dark brotherhood stuff and other odds and ends, quests have single scripted solutions. In trying to keep with its "epic" premise, designers forgot that some towns have outer walls that are 3-4 feet tall in some places, which makes the demon sieges a complete farce.

Need I go on? It'll always be inferior to truly open-ended games like Gothic, where the graphics kinda-sorta pale in comparison but the gameplay far FAR superior.

I hated Oblivion, but completely-built-by-hand intrigues me... And 50 hours! This type of stuff puts it on the level of a full fanmade game/expansion, like T2X: Shadows of the Metal Age, which is very rare.

CS Complete is smaller cus the modding scene for CS is a lot smaller (partly cus the game wasn't good enough) so less mods were made for CS, so less went into CS Complete.

Complete is a serie of modpacks, not mods. Pavel takes mods made by the stalker community and put them all together. Look at the pdf for a list of credits. He's done a good job of combining them in Complete 2009, those crop of mods came together beautifully. For CS it had a dearth of mods, and for COP the picks were not all the same quality.

Seem to be taken from a collected anthology by e6studio, which is renovating their site right now. The Three Kingdoms are there as well as various others. The Song Dynasty Armor is badass.

After 158 I couldn't connect to servers again. I uninstalled it, gonna wait a few months to try again. It's a good looking game, just needs a TON of elbow grease to get it to run stable, and from there move on to the gameplay tweaks asap.

Instead of a hall of fame, which nobody will ever completely agree with, or agree with certain omissions, why not a "best of" award. Each game should have a "best of" or a few "best of" mods, depending on the size of its modding scene.

Honestly the really "influential" mods, we all know them whether we want to or not, they're already in the ether. There's no need for moddb to "enshrine them," it doesn't add to them any more. Instead I prefer a "best of" system for people to quickly look up their favorite game, whether large or small. Cus honestly, some of your hall of famers belong in this category a lot more than the "most influential which everybody knows by default" category.

For example: Max Payne Kung-Fu 3.0 - legendary mod, came and went before moddb's time so its presence on here isn't even official. It's literally the "modnum opus" for Max Payne, the one mod that stands atop any other mods. On the other hand, I never heard of Complex, don't care for Median XL, and don't think Europe in Ruins belongs on a list with the CS, NS, TF, DC, etc.

During freeplay there's plenty of stalkers rushing to pripyat, but 1/50 of them actually make it past the 2 electric fields into city proper (Fang's grave). Freedom stalkers do some times take another path, but generally they all walk into the anomaly field, dance around and die in it.

This has basically made the entrance to the city an all out warzone and the rest of the city rather barren. Think you can cut a path through the electro or at least make it more traversible so maybe 25/50 stalkers will make it into Pripyat and run around in it?
