Thanks Vugam. I might want to add that fish are in general arround 1000 polys, so it is not that low at all. I have been trying to lower count a little but then animations and dynamic feel is suffering, so i decided to keep all fish at this poly frame.
Seriusly, this game is calling for PS3 and Xbox. I really hope you guys get some publisher to get this game for all platforms it deserves.
Wow i really dont know whats wrong with people commenting on this project. First some people calling characters wierd or strange with some words...this characters are fantastic and really creative. I really cant find anything wrong with them.
And also people accusing this team of using Uningine renders and then just changing them with UDK logo...i mean come on! If you dont know anything about Unigine render and UDK render dont make such a accusations. Unigine render is so different from UDKs that it is really hard to make misstake here. Especially if Unigine is running under direct x11. Also personally i think that UE3 render is the most specific in game industry and it can be seen from 10000 miles that certain game is using UE3, and same can be said for project that is not using it.
Yes it was UE3 game at start, we switched to Unity engine due to several reasons.
Since we are building game with Unity engine, requirements will be frendly to low-end computers too. Shader model 2.0 cards are acceptable, no need for multicore CPUs, and direct x9.0 will be required.
Also we will do our best to optimise game graphic with three different texture resolutions and effect on/off ability to optimise game.
Arbiter i cant say for sure yet. It depends of how well will we do on contest. If we gain any prize on contest enough for our next project needs, game would be released free. Otherwise it would be defenetly price, but i cant say how much exactly yet.

Yeh dont worry, this one is gray-blueish too, it is just light in scene that made it more brown. It should look better color in game.

Hey to answer you questions...no fish wont be customizable. We are using real fish and real environment therefore making any custom species would not fit. And yes you would be able to see whole prehistoric era with not just prehistoric fish but also ocean biggest reptiles from that era.
Hm actually i have done reasearch about that, and i found that most of killer whales really have smaller fins, but some do have longer like this one. Kinda strange.

Well it has been great. I cant say too much right now since i havent deal with all tehnical aspects of our scene yet but as far as it goes for pipeline and level design Unity is great.
We are using Unity 3 engine.
Orangeduckster if you are skilled in any area (3d modeling, level design, programming), why not joining our team?

Master1742 there will be fish nets in water and fishing boats which will represent danger especially when playing as bigger mammal.
Yeh he really is good composer. I suggest you to go on his site and take a look of year 2238 track. Beside LOTR soundtracks the most epic track i ever heard.
Thanks SinKing, i use hand painted colors on model combined with photo source. First i paint whole model with using 3 or 4 different (strong) colors and matching up reference as much as possible and then overlaying or multiplying photosource texture on top of it to get small details.

Yeh indeed. Its very old prehistoric fish its also biggest river fish in world.
Well here on this screen there are no undewater effects at all. Its only caustic projection that you can see and simple terrain (where caustic is drawn on).

Wow. I had very similar idea for game that i wanted to make. I think that this game will be blast. UDK is defenetly best choice you could make unless if Cryengine comes to indie soon i would suggest you to switch there:D.
I totaly understand what you mean. I have really been trying to achieve that but i am really starter on animation and i still have difficulties to get used to it.

Great white will not be boss, instead it will be rare but it will apear often in certain levels. I am preaparing some very realistic and exciting levels where you play as seal and those sharks are hunting you. There will be some very agressive and cruel attacks performed by this sharks so expect thrilling animations.

There is no word to describe that artwork and all of 3d models made for this mod. Mod group like this should get one free unreal enigne to produce their work which is 100 times better than any other game studios and i would say much better than work from Epic games. Whole concept of this modern/old mixing weapons and clothes just make it perfect.
