I found an MPQ tool that can help you if you find a Beta version of SC. It is simply named, "MPQEdit" (I think.) it uses listfiles so when you open the encrypted Blizzard MPQs you can use the listfile and they will not be encrypted. xD
I have the SC Beta (But could never play it) and I used the listfile and I was able to find quite a few graphics. ;p
I actually found the beta recently and got those graphics and things, but thanks anyway!
Also, I've had the same problem with not being able to play. It's kinda annoying, but eh, considering it's so old and not updated, not surprising.
I thought the Starcraft Development versions were unobtainable.
Technically, yes, they are. However, Blizzard did release a semi-public beta, which was sent out to a bunch of fans over the world, and these have since been uploaded to the web. The battle.net servers are down, though, and single player is disabled. I can't remember where I downloaded it, but if you take a look around you can probably find it somewhere. The most common copies are torrents.
hey ToryIsConfused to make the SC beta mod you will have to hack into the Sc code and change it because don't have enough GRPs entries on the .dat files and to put more will need hex editing and code-injection on the StarCraft executable and the dat files
