Right now /tg/ is working on a Borderlands RPG called GUNS GUNS GUNS. They've got alpha rules in development and are about 60% done with the system. Since sirens are so rare in the fluff, they have a class to replace her called the "Slag Harpy", basically a bandit that injects herself with Slag and gains temporary superpowers, but slowly goes insane.

I'll have to link you to it the next time it has a dedicated thread, it's pretty awesome.

Unfortunately real life takes priority now. Internships, school, etc.

I'm willing to give Victory Games the benefit of the doubt here with the next C&C. I want to see what they can make, and I'm not going to compare it to anything in the past. I really want to be non-judgmental with the future of C&C, but I know that the second we see some screenshots and a trailer, the community will be up in arms shouting that this is not C&C, this game sucks, EA is ruining C&C, etc etc. Which is exactly what I want to avoid here. Let's all give the new C&C developers a chance to prove themselves.

I actually think it looks exactly like it needs to. Nod buildings shouldn't be super ostentatious ( <-- word means overly complex/detailed and unnecessarily so).

A plain pyramid, with some red glass textures and plenty of Nod imagery on it does just fine. Plus the laser fence will make it look better.

Have you played any other Metroid games besides Echoes? My heart stays with the original Metroid Prime - that feeling of awe landing on a 3d fully rendered detailed planet is awesome. Then I shortly find out that everything on the planet is trying to kill me in gruesome ways.

The boss fights were epic, the upgrades to the suit were awesome and "suit"ably devastating, the final boss was just the right difficulty, and the replayability (with the scans and all) was icing on the cake.

If you'll excuse my ramble, I also did enjoy Echoes, but the difficulty ramped a little bit, and I find myself stuck on the Torvus Bog guardian - the Chykka.

With the ore, definitely make it large with visible crystals (like CNC3 Tiberium but less so), and perhaps make a custom tileset for the ground underneath the field. The drill should be classic RA2 style.

I would think that the easiest way to balance mind-control is to stick a timer on it, like engineers in Paradox. That way, the unit being mind-controlled can still fight back, and it forces the player to use a defensive meat shield to protect the unit doing the mind-controlling while he's doing his job.

Mind-control should pretty much be conserved for top-tier units to prevent mind-control spam. Lower tech units could use stuff like the "Psi Wave" ability from RA2 Yuri clones (actually, that's pretty close to Yuriko, this might need to be revisited).

Whatever you do, just make sure that mind-control is balanced for multiplayer, otherwise everyone will just play as Yuri.

It kinda does. It almost looks see-through, like it's being cloaked by a Disruption Tower. It might be your Spec map, try increasing the Red to make it more shiny.

From what I've seen, music can be but in by map scripts, which falls under the mapper's jobs, not the modelers/coders/animators or any other job like that. Check out the link under "Why is it Missing?" and read the entire first post. Apparently you can put music into the files and manually put it in via WorldBuilder scripts.

IMO, it looks a little cluttered to be a radar building, and Nod in general is a little more smooth lines and form over function. If editing original C&C3 models from the game is allowed/possible, I suggest removing some of the random pillars that jut out from the sides of the thing.

The feet look really awkward - almost too square. IMO, they should be a little less wide.
I know how much you dislike comparisons to TE, but Carnius's Mammoth looks a little more streamlined. The feet fixes and maybe a slight height increase to the legs would make this better.
If I remember correctly, weren't the railguns a little lower and closer to the body on the TS Mk II? This would also help with the streamlining.

Other than that, looks good. Hope the animations and visual effects are as good as the model.
