Default DoC gameplay includes fleet units but once we get far enough with code and AI we'll begin adding option based scar for gameplay elements particular to DoC.
Your own starting fleet unit SHOULD be able to spawn a fleet beacon that will in turn allow you to spawn more of your own fleet with which to destroy that of the enemies, also there ARE some surface units that CAN target fleet units, such as necron pylon cannons and imperial guard defense lasers.
Please remember that the vast majority of you asked for the SOONER and more INCOMPLETE/SUBOPTIMAL Alpha release.
To that end we're not seeking help with finding art errors (numerous though they may be) atm, as we're focused on function first, and also note a patch is already in the works to be posted soon.
Finally please keep in mind that this mod is extremely large, 40+gb's, and loading times are LONG.

The intention was to release before the end of this month.
UNFORTUNATELY irl events have undermined those plans; so I give you a vote:
1. An even more suboptimal version can be released in the next 24-48 hours and would be a roughly 15-20 gb download.
2. Wait til december and get a less sub optimal version HOPEFULLY released in a smaller and more stable fashion.

All things relevant from your amazing collection voice script sets WILL be in the first release albeit un-processed (that will come in later patches)and I can't stress enough how big a help to DoC just THAT is.

Due to the endless scheduling conflicts with the few people willing to actually HELP the project; DoC is going to be released in an exceedingly suboptimal format that will likely disappoint and anger many.

GK are a seperate army in DoC because in DoC the GK units that Daemonhunters have SOME access to and can CHOOSE to use =/= that which a Grey Knight army can field.
We don't care what the release of this or that codex "implies", not sure what you're point is there in all honesty.
Im sorry but for now I can only assure you that Grey Knights, Daemonhunters, Sisters Of Battle and Witch Hunters (and all 59 armies) all play differently and have different tactical advantages/flaws, as it would be impractical to break down what elements of which editions of which codices, magazine entries, novels, etc; we decided to use for which army and why in this forum.
On that note on or before release there WILL be detailed breakdowns of all the armies units, tactical strengths and weaknesses, etc;
We do not view 40k canon 2 dimensionally, all VERSIONS of all codices INCLUDING EPIC ARMY LISTS.
Furthermore the word "official" is the wrong way to put it, "widely accepted" by actual players of the relevant 40k tabletop games, be it:
epic army lists (old and new),
bell of lost souls material (widely accepted and used),
the old realms of chaos books (the material catwells
fantastic work was inspired by)
in addition to:
the nigh countless novels,
white dwarf articles,
the list goes on and on.
For us and for the purposes of DoC no given version of a codex or piece of canon automatically "invalidates" any PART of another simply because it is newer.
I'm well aware that this 3 dimensional approach is distasteful for some and if that is the case of you I understand and this DEFINITELY isn't the mod for you.

We will do our best to get footage of those things asap, when you request further footage of new units please continue naming a specific army(s) if not a specific unit(S), like u did with death guard zombies :)
Name a few specific armies you'd like to see unique features of and/or specific gameplay features and we'll get at least some basic footage taken.

Not all of them unless someone willing and able to be our AI specialist (if only long enough to get Alpha 1.0 released) magically materializes in the next couple days after years of no such person seeming to exist. If I have to handle that AI issue it will sadly have to be done AFTER initial release.
Again I must stress that regardless of the above; ALL armies WILL be FULLY useable by human players WITHOUT any AI errors, and
the number of armies useable by AI will at least be about double the number in vanilla SS.
