I'm Part of the mysterious team behind The old World. As an avid level designer of games I've long had a position of art control over design aspects but I vary that control into concept art and anime themed character art. As a long time level designer i've had control of alot of gameplay/storyline impact and total director control in the past and coverd a great deal of game styles. Now i'l put those skills to use to assist The old World in anyway i can and furthur the developement of games under the Team. I go by the alias's Ironstorm/Ironstrom and Winterspirit in my level design.
The inventory is open in this screenshot. So it's considerably tidy for a game where you are looking through your own inventory.
Is he friendly, I know you watered him and all ? Got a name for him ?
I just want to pet it .
I think a lot of people here appreciate things differently to an extent. We have a lot more modders and designers in this community that look for a myriad of different things in their game, often appreciating new stand out features or elements in design and effort rather then just how smooth the game play is. We can understand that new release's can often be buggy if not properly tested and may overlook the now and rate for the potential.
Thats the spirit.
There's differences of viewer opinion between gamers, They may want a different level of colour aspect then everyone else. Bare in mind with a day and night cycle the light levels and colours will change. This image being set this way in order to show off the height changes. If your eyes are reading into it to much this picture is without the regular other tiles that would mix the scene.
Later on we might have to a poll to see if a change was necessary otherwise we might of changed it for that 5% of viewer population.
Also on the right hand side of this page you can see twitter feed updates. 50% of the time or more they're about the game so you can see that work is being done there.
Don't worry its not dead, Lots of work is just going into preparing for an alpha.
The game looks relatively nice at the moment and the ui looks reasonable of course I'l have a better opinion in the future but on face value you've got a nice roll here. I'l track and check out the forums at my soonest convenience, keep up the good work.
I saw a post about Arkanius on tig source or I may of read your article about it. But I'l give a IndieDB glance over and comment.
Thanks for supporting the old world Tweak :P your giving us little boosts of morale all the time :P
We knew about that before the video was put up but these are things we can cover in the coming updates. Also as you said the snakes were a place holder entity for a while.
Appealing project you guys have here, I've not really looked into the anything being voice keyed in the past but its a interesting aspect. I have to agree you also have a stunning looking game keep up the great work I'l be back for more.
I'm pretty interested to see where it goes so keep on trucking ^-^
You've suddenly reminded me of a disc world book where Mort is the apprentice of death
Great to see you guys doing so well, your omni pass is defiantly a interesting step maybe in the future of games or indie games we won't see a scenario alike this. "so you got xx game on pc lets play co-op," no I got it on console".
When you want to be able to enjoy a game you like with friends for a game you have already purchased and then have to pay the full price again if not more just to play with them on another platform.
I'm fond of art of this come out when you start a piece with no set goal in mind you end up trying to see many different ways to interpriate your piece no stroke is "wrong" just something you have to work into your piece. Also people will see things differently in many way.
Very inspirational.
Yea I did get a look at that video and covered engine level design elements myself. I just find the concept of community develop a interesting way to create further community interaction. There are defiantly whole different tiers of user experience and determination making it easier for the community to use isn't entirely necessary if people are interested enough they'l adapt:P With the ones coming out being more dedicated designers which would allow easyer review and balancing/action to bring it into the game.
Ever Plan on allowing people from the community to design levels come release ? it doesn't happen often anymore. Online level designer Alias "Winterspirit"
I'd also most forgotten about this game after a while of following thank god my curiosity led me to check this out Hmm beta "om nom nom"
