Speaking of disappearing, it's hard for religion to disappear when people live in societies where hope naturally does not exist...that and people are born into religions, which makes it hard for people to reject ideals put into them since birth...

But you know, I wonder how Society would be like for alot of people if Religion no longer existed. Begs the question if it would be better, or worst.

Well, what I meant was that humanity making a permanent presence on another planet would void everything that current religions stand on, their holy writings.

All of their writings are based on this planet, nobody ever said the apocalypse would happen on Mars, nobody said Jesus would appear in the night sky of Mars, nobody said Allah would descend from the skies of Mars.

Generally, anything humanity would achieve that breaks the prophecies would be a great way to disprove religion, and anything fanatics say afterwards would just be self-delusion.

When we colonize the first planet....then everyone can rest assured that Religion has finally lost. I can't wait till we colonize Mars.
