does the rest of the world think we live on food stamps or am I missing a joke here?
Hm- I actually thought there was federal regulation there preventing ecologically destructive laws like that...
I would have, but then I realized bots would be using it as well
Here in Virginia (I just recently moved here from CA) you have to carry any bears you kill to the closest ranger station (which could be miles)- this includes a bear that was charging/attacking you or other people.
Oh no! Muslims practicing freedom of religion in a nation founded on that very principles??? noOoooooOooooOo
Yea, we'll have an ironsights version for sure!
Hate those 45 degree sights- They're useful, but ugly imo and you kind of have to use em even though elcans and acogs usually have their own more aesthetically pleasing backup sights.
Awesome! Your work looks very similar to my own recent projects for skyrim.
All he's saying is he doesn't know of any atheists like that (which I haven't either), but that doesn't mean he's denying their existence.
I'll admit, I too am a bit skeptical, but I'll take your word for it because it doesn't seem that unlikely. Viewpoints tend to deviate from person to person- it's only logical
I think the new group is going to be a bunch of people agreeing with eachother (in most cases) and we should just work on ironing out the old one...
*insert your mom joke here*
Humanity can observe the universe and still never understand our origins. Imho, the big bang makes a whole lot of sense, but if it gets proved wrong with *LEGITIMATE* evidence, I wouldn't mind that at all- I'm fine with change.
I think the argument now is whether or not the universe is expanding out infinitely or if it will eventually bounce back into it's super-condensed form. I'd go with the latter, because for every positive in out universe, there is a negative.
Maybe this can be a religious issue too, but I don't think it's necessary to talk about religion in science- few religious texts are meant to be taken literally. They are meant to be interpreted, and if anything, discoveries and theories such as the big bang allow you to get a more accurate interpretation of such teachings.
Scientology is recent and look at the nasty mess that turned out to be.
I'll make a simple response to the image itself- there are sheep in anything- people who want that simple, human feeling of affirmation- this just tends to happen less with atheism as the viewpoint is more often developed by the individual rather than the circumstances in which they're born into (as is often seen in devout religion)
Of course it works either way- atheists can be followers, religious people can be amazing free thinkers such as Gandhi- the larger picture here is that atheists don't become free-thinkers because they're atheists, free thinkers tend to become atheists because they're just that- free thinkers, bound to no gods or deities, deciding rather to seek their humanity in a more solitary, less impressionable path. With religion, you have no choice but to be bound to it's code, even in such a rare case that this code is irrelevant or barbaric in today's world.
Weak, maybe, but philosophy and culture thrive in freedom.
You won't have cynics thinking outside the box when you don't have any asshats to criticize.
What about children who can't make that decision for themselves?
Im working on combat :D
I think I'll be moving my content to combat, as that seems like a better platform.
I'm not completely sure yet.
7game and I have talked a lot, and we seem to agree more often on ideas surrounding the mod.
Hindu, this post is really nothing but an attempt to rouse some sort of reaction out of the atheists on this site- but as I said earlier, I'm open to discussion. Argument is the only way we can achieve any kind of mutual understanding here.
The point your image is missing is the fact that many atheists grow up thinking otherwise. I think I mentioned before that I thought of myself as a Christian- there was a point when I believed I was talking to god. when you identify as an atheist, you don't do so by declaring you ARE something, rather, you come to the realization that you ARE NOT religious.
I didn't even know there were people who didn't believe in god until I lived in Germany at ~14yo.
Your image does bring to light a problem in atheism- I believe there are some people out there that say they're atheists for the same reason you'd post this picture here- attention.
I think you've got it backwards, violent revolution can be good, yes, but it leads to a period of instability- a period in which things can take a horrible turn for the worst. With the US, we were lucky having a 1787 constitutional convention- had we not reformed our post-revolution government, we could have devolved into a bunch of warring states, tribes, and the American states could have been taken back by the british.
Most revolutions end only in death- unless you live under a state that shows doctrine of violating it's citizen's natural rights, reform is the best- in theory a democratic government could become communist or fascist and still live on in a relatively safe stasis if done so through a series of reforms in government- still, neither of these ideologies are very good imo. A federal/state democracy is the best system, but it can be misused as can be seen in the case of the US- A better example of such a government would be Germany. It's the most neutral form of government in practice
The colors get pretty intense ingame- I might make them green bakelite instead like the pistol grip- There will be other permutations of magazines at some point, don't worry
That pic looks ancient though- like 1980s or earlier. Our whole uniform and gear has changed since then
When i wrote that I meant for customization
We have some legislation that is based on certain religious teachings, but the christian side of the US and UK is primarily seen in culture. The US is roughly 70% Christian, chances are that'll end up somewhere in our government, but that doesn't mean our doctrine is strictly religious- we were founded as a secular state, although in some of our states there have been laws put up barring atheists from having political office- that denies the religious rights our nation was founded on, and the federal government has actively sought cracking down on such unconstitutional state laws. Still, we aren't a Christian nation, we are a secular nation.
Spud, I think it's going right over his head...
More often than not they are factual, but the facts are presented in a deceptive manner- no media source in the world is innocent of this.
Remember to use as many sources as you can when checking information- knowing one's own opinion is the best way to eliminate it from the overarching truth.
keep in mind that fact does not connote truth
oddly enough, they were- the (flawed) logic behind it is that people can't worship stalin when they're busy worshipping god, so the state took away religious freedom and hunted religious people, making it impossible for religious leaders to actually organize people against the soviet state (which in considering itself atheists gave these people reason to want to depose such a government).
You'll find the average Atheists may dislike religion and gods, but are more advocates of religious freedom than anything else. Don't mistake their criticism of your beliefs as a wish to forcefully eliminate them.
Don't worry, we'll be bringing some of those soon enough
For the last time, they were targeted as a power threat- they were persecuted for political reasons, not religious ones.
Thanks ^^ I spent hours trying to get the coloring right. I may have some other color permutations for it as well later on.
