Yep, I chose not to do it on the Episode 2 engine because of the compatibility issues it would cause.

First of all, the pacing is going to be very different from Half Life 2. You'll find yourself with only the pistol for a good part of the game, as combat isn't as big of a part in the first segments. When your terrorist group starts their larger attacks, however, it's a different story. The first segments are about gathering intel, 'cleaning up' loose ends so that when the larger attacks do happen, you and your group are well covered.

1. Right now, I do not have any plan to incoporate the US military in the game- at least not as a main enemy. While I haven't completely planned out the enemies, I'm making the majority of the enemies be local law enforcement, including SWAT. That doesn't mean to say that the military won't be involved.

2. I plan to have a number of locations that you will be fighting in and currently I am aiming for the terrorist base to be located in Los Angeles, however your main target may not be located in that city.
