map names will be reserved so you can't have multiple people with the same map name in the browser. You can upload the same map multiple times, but only the most recent will show in the browser. You can not delete maps (because this causes issues with people running older versions of the maps when you delete it).

Long story short, it should all work itself out XD

57897 is the default port.

Opening them on your router won't do anything though, it only works if the people hosting do it.

We're currently in the process of setting up some dedicated servers to remove reliance on user-hosted games (which tend to be hit-or-miss depending on if people know how to correctly host).

Mouse will never be supported, one of the things that was originally decided for this game. Totally destroys how the game plays, and dosen't work well with 8 directional sprites.

Gamepad though, as I said in the thread, apologies, I only have a 360 controller to test with so it can be a bit hit or miss with other gamepads.

There is a reason for the sarcastic pre-pre-alpha warning at the start of the game. These are essentially development builds.

As for "hit detection" and "range", those are gameplay balancing issues, not our main priority at the moment.

That's because a lot of people are trying to host servers on computers that have totally inadequate connections. Make sure you forward any ports before trying to host a game www.portfroward.com

We're currently changing the server system to something slightly different that should hopefully make this more transparent for people who don't know how servers are actually meant to be hosted.

The game already is moddable. 256 player servers will not be though. The game isn't optimised for that level of players, god only knows how that would work out, especially with people hosting on residential connections.

Max map size is 100x100 rooms, there are 4 different variations of room shapes (really need to expand that), 6 possible spawn points for lights, 6 possible spawn points for projectile spawners, 8 different types of traps/rooms (chest/wave/etc), 4 different enemy drop types, 255*255*255 different biome colours, 255 light shade variations, etc, etc.

100^100^4^12^12^8^4^255^255^255^255 = large number lol.

So close enough to infinite lol, but I do agree I need to add more variation to the maps.

wut, why would you get kicked from the game by donators? Donators have no more kicking power than anyone else. And *shrugs* we have to give something back to donators, why not weapons? They are well balanced so they won't get some kind of huge leap over other players.

I'm sorry but, servers cost money, a lot of money, donating seemed the least offensive way of people being able to help towards them.

But fine, if that's your attitude, goodbye.

It probably is :3. We've generally been testing with latency'S around 200ms (all developers live in different countries - jordan US, me UK, etc), there are also a few odd frame-drop bugs that need fixing.

Its smoother at lower latency's and I'm working on implementing different forms of client-side prediction to try and hide some of it, as people have become accustomed to with a lot of popular multiplayer games :3.

We'll get a proper trailer out soon to show the game off better :3
