Read my reply below lol. More details the better please :)
Can you give me the URL it provides please? (Or take a screenshot of the error box and upload it, whatever is easier!)
How long did you leave it sitting there?, Roughly what % was the progress bar on when that happened? Whats your operating system?
Details plz :3.
Also If your on windows, open the folder the launcher exe is in and hold shift and right click on some empty space in the folder and select "Open Command Window Here". Type ZombieGrinder.exe -uselog into the command window and press enter. A log file should be generated in a folder called logs, stick it on pastebin and link it here :)
:). No problem.
Yup. This is the actual one this time lol.
That would probably be why then. I believe that chipset only supports GL 1.4, far to low for the game to do some of its tricks :(.
In that case you probably are screwed as it can't even initialize the graphics window. What graphics card do you have?
You can normally still play if you skip the message. Just no shaders and shiz.
Should work, tell me if it does :)
Cheers, got it.
I know what the problem is now, slightly different behavior on XP when killing processes than on > Vista.
Give me an hour or so and I'll upload a launcher that should work.
Can you do me a favor and download the following launcher file. To start it can you click the bat file rather than the exe then send me the log file that should be generated in a logs\ folder (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Do either of you have any AV running (in which case what kind), are you running the game as an administrator and do you have any unusual setups for user accounts (added to a domain?).
Been trying to recreate this for the last couple of days on an XP vm with no success, always works fine with me D:
I suspect something is either blocking its ability to write to files or access the update server.
Just the random one.
Huum. well at least we have found a common element to the whole thing lol
Max map size is 100x100 rooms, there are 4 different variations of room shapes (really need to expand that), 6 possible spawn points for lights, 6 possible spawn points for projectile spawners, 8 different types of traps/rooms (chest/wave/etc), 4 different enemy drop types, 255*255*255 different biome colours, 255 light shade variations, etc, etc.
100^100^4^12^12^8^4^255^255^255^255 = large number lol.
So close enough to infinite lol, but I do agree I need to add more variation to the maps.
Are you using XP as well?
Shouldn't take long to find the issue :)
I thought you just said you did it through desura O_o.
Anyhow, leave it with me for a few hours, I'll try it on XP and see if I can find the issue. Most likely a compatibility problem with xp.
Which version did you select?
Any errors at all? Any windows popup?
And the single ZombieGrinder.exe file is expected - We use that as our stub launcher which then downloads the data files to another appdata folder.
I'll boot up a VM and test on XP later, no tried it on that in quite a while.
Though granted they could use more variety lol.
Its not dungeons picked at random, its all procedurally generated.
Operating System, specs etc?
"Dosen't launch" isn't very helpful :3
Yup. Next update is in a few days too lol.
The reason for the lag is it auto-saves whenever you pick stuff up, which unfortunately is a bit slow atm as the master server gets a bit bogged down at times.
Saviour - Use spawning machine in wave_dontpressthebutton
FBI Checklist - Find the easter egg in c1_s1.
Theoretically any number, but I will probably limit it to 4. A lot of the fun of exploring dungeons and stuff kinda goes out the window if you just have lots of people rushing around.
I take it english is not your first language.
Just a phrase meaning; I don't mind, go for it.
Nope. Have at it.
I honestly don't know what your trying to say.
Look at the top 2 images above.
