I'm a 30-something web developer/programmer, who loves gaming, and loves saving cash. I think that last part comes from being half-Scots... ;) I mainly play on Wii (I love Wiimote/nunchuk controls for FPS games, it's worth the sacrifice in graphics) or on PC. I'll play games on Linux preferably, as it's the OS I use day-to-day, though I still dual-boot to play Windows-only games. Also, I can't work out how to put newlines into my bio. I like white space. You'll find me inhabiting the Bundeals group on Desura, come and join us there!

I get emails whenever anybody replies to one of my comments (not that they do often, I don't think I've ever posted anything of worth).

There's a setting that can be accessed via the 'Edit Profile' button in your profile: "Email alerts when a comment I posted is replied to" - is it still checked?

I thought that at first - but it doesn't seem to fit.

The market is clearly big enough for other bundles to exist without affecting each other's sales (they kind of benefit each other in a way, by legitimising bundles to consumers).

The Humble Bundle was based on Steam's indie bundles (making the Indie Royale reason just seem petty if it were true).

Plus some of the developers from previous HiB's, that use the Humble Store, pulling their games at around the same time - there's no reason for them to pull their games due to Indie Royale.

I'm glad I managed to strengthen my tin-foil hat recently... :P

To be honest, I'll think I'll be following you in not picking up future Humble Bundles.

It is disheartening to finally get a service like Desura to Linux, only for one of the (if not the) biggest suppliers of Linux games to suddenly drop them the moment the Linux client was launched.

Tin-foil hat time: I do wonder whether the Humble Store has anything to do with this. A lot of the previous Bundle games are now sold through it, and some of those have been removed from sale on Desura.

There were rumours that it will end up being a proper online store - if so, it would explain dropping Desura at the moment the Linux client was launched. It would decrease the attractiveness of a competitor (their only serious competitor, in the case of Linux). They are a business at the end of the day.

Ubuntu Software Center support doesn't quite fit with this though. But using the Ubuntu Software Center whilst dropping Desura doesn't make the slightest bit of sense at all.

Didn't know about the last two in that list, thanks - they aren't on the BWM site.

Though the list is missing: Metagolf Desura.com and Silverquest Desura.com

Any developers that add their Desura games to Because We May (or even those already in it) are perfectly welcome to also come shout out about their game in our group's forums: Desura.com

I've been linking to that thread from elsewhere (it's had nearly 3,000 views if our group's stats are anything to go by), to get the word out about the Desura games participating in the event, as unfortunately Desura's (& other stores') participation wasn't initially well advertised by BWM.

So if you followed @Desura's tweet to this article, please retweet it & spread the good word... :)

Also: "We're working on a modding package to help our artists experiment with new designs. Once it's touched up a bit we'll be releasing it. That should make it very easy to drop in new art, change bounding boxes and so on. We're looking into including a scripting language too, but that's a bit further off in the distance."

Fingers crossed, though :)

Pwnee should be out shouting about it a bit more imho. I've become addicted to this game, it really is one of the best platformers I've played.

When you clear a difficult (or even semi-difficult) level by discovering and following it's rhythm (best way I can describe it), you feel elated, and start believing that you've mastered the game. Until the next level...

It really deserves some more publicity.

* edit - apparently TotalBiscuit has just tweeted about it, so pledges have just shot up.
