First of all about which infantry your are talking about, AT squad or riffle squad. I dont really know which version of the mod are you playing, but starting from last year vehicles which got more than 50mm armour is almoust impossible to kill with infantry because they got 0.002 multiplier against tanks armour.
They can be see if you are looking from space to the ground, because they are not transperent to 100% and tracers which are overlaying on dark-blue colour of water can be seen quite good. Explosion effects were tested a way ago in IVM mod, and it showed that multiple explosins in the same time are reducing FPS rate... Lets say right side of Admiral Kuznecov has got 11 gatling CIWS in total, and every gun shoots 5000 rounds/minute, that means it shoots 83 round per second, which means, game has to handle about 900 explosion per second only from one ship... I hope you got the idea...;3
Game cannot handle so much explosion, probably we will try to make easier effects for the game engine;3
It actually got some simmilarities with Abrams in componation area, we can see here automatic loader which is based in the rear side of the turret hull.

Well, truly saying project 1144 Orlan or Kirov class was developed to countermeasure american nuclear submarines, but in the development process it received P-700 Granit heavy cruise-missiles which most of them later were fitted with nuclear warheads... Practically it was intended to destroy american heavy attack aicraft-carrier groups(Nimitz class and escort ships), which were intendent to strike soviet borders across USSR.
So i think your question is a bit wrong, probably most correct question would be, do russians have got anything to counter those Nimitz CVB groups, because in next 10 years only 2 of Kirov class will be left in the fleet, and other 2 will be scrapped, while US will have about 10 active aircraft carriers.

Interesting unit in terms of space combat, does not able to defend very effectively on its own, but has got loads of different aicraft untis for different roles which are acting as a defenders as well.
We have made some animated water models, but they are reducing game FPS on weak PCs, so we are now trying to make something between good looking and not resource eating;3 Current water is not the deffinetely final one!
You cant really see, but most of the time AK630 and Kashtan CIWS as well as american Phalanx systems are shooting down incoming missiles;3 You cant see it, because they are reloading
