1.018 mainly fixed the crash caused by Steam version 2.700.2.22.
Next big patch may be a while off, we'll see if we can fix some minor issues in the meantime.
The base game and shortcuts are unmodified. You launch the mod via a separate BAT file.
I intend to release a simple RAR version of the mod in lieu of the current installer (which has been causing a multitude of problems). If you don't mind waiting for a day or so then that should avert your Avast issue.
Does it happen every time you play? And only on that map?
Have it apply a squad upgrade or slot item to the vehicle. The ability should require that the upgrade/slot item NOT be present.

Have you downloaded and extracted v1.017 and v1.018 yet? If not, do that now.
Then go to your CoH root folder. For example, mine is "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Company of Heroes Relaunch".
There should be 2 files there named:
- Modern Combat Launcher.bat
- Modern Combat Launcher Cheat Mode.bat
Move both files into your ModernCombat folder (also in your CoH root folder), and overwrite when prompted. Use those .bat files to run the game (either normally or with cheat mode enabled).

Which version did you download?
It's likely something failed to download correctly.
We did have custom DLLs that were broken, but no custom factions (our factions overwrite the default vCoH ones). So we were able to fix the problem by disabling the DLLs.
Are you sure you installed 1.018 in the right place? That sounds like the problem it was released to fix.
Double check that you extracted the 1.018 .rar to your CoH root folder, and not your ModernCombat folder or anywhere else. For example my root folder is:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Company of Heroes Relaunch"
You definitely downloaded versions 1.016-1.018 right? Not version 1.000?
We don't have a proper launcher anymore due to a massive server crash that happened about mid-2013.
The mod is launched via BAT files in your ModernCombat folder. Check the "desktop shortcuts" section of our download page for additional info.
MC v1.018 is fully compatible with both Steam version 2.700.2.22 and retail version 2.602.
Yeah, that error occurs when you aren't connected to the internet (the mod's attempting to upload your game results to our old leaderboard).
It's completely benign, so not really a priority for us to fix. Shouldn't cause any issues.

Did you try moving the .bat files?

That's why we implemented secondary explosions.
When you destroy an ATV, nothing much happens. When you destroy an Abrams, a sequence of huge internal detonations takes place and a pool of flaming fuel forms underneath the wreck. :)
The impact FX of the anti-armour weapon you use will make a major difference too. A Javelin missile packs a LOT more punch aesthetically than a Barrett for example.

The mod is currently undergoing some revisions, and we've decided that an additional PLA faction is a secondary priority for now. We'd rather overhaul the existing Ground Forces faction and spice things up a bit.

It's not a quick edit, even if you have properly formatted sound files of a high enough quality ready to use. Sound editing in CoH is one of the hardest processes there is. That's why you so rarely (if at all) hear custom voices, even in mods that only add a few new units (let alone an entire faction).
Just download the 1.018 hotfix above. :)
Make sure you follow the instructions and move the two specified BAT files from your CoH root folder to your ModernCombat folder.

Move the ones from your CoH folder into your ModernCombat folder. Then they'll work properly without launching the updater. Sorry about that mate.
Everything should be inside the ModernCombat folder EXCEPT for the .module files. It sounds like maybe you've pasted the .bat files twice in two locations, and are using the wrong ones?

Although are you sure you extracted hotfix 1.018 to the right place? One of the things it does is disable the updater...

Good luck guys. I understand they locked out DLLs as an anti-cheating measure, but surely there's another way.
If not, you could always merge the existing six factions into four (so that you overwrite existing faction slots and don't require custom DLLs). Not ideal I know, and a lot of work, but something I believe is worth considering if this situation can't be resolved otherwise.
Sorry mate, just MC. Using the hotfix files with other mods will just cause further problems. Any universal fix will have to come from Relic unfortunately.
We were lucky, because unlike mods with additional factions our DLLs could be bypassed without causing any major problems.
