The demo was pretty good, there were actually a few spots that had me jumping (doesn't happen often these days :|). Great work so far, I was sort of disappointed when I reached the end and couldn't keep progressing. D:
They Hunger may be sort of embarrassing to the whole horror-game subgenre, but it's still a classic, and relatively fun one at that. :|
Lost Souls doesn't look too scary, no...and it's still got a hint of HL2 about it, yes...But hey, it's a single-player zombie mod for HL2, and doesn't look nearly as bad and generic as most other HL2 mods do.
I don't know if They Hunger or Lost Souls was really aimed at scaring people (though, you must remember, They Hunger is a somewhat old mod...maybe back then it was a fresh new and spooky experience), maybe a scare here and there; but what is obvious is that both were aimed at giving the horror/ zombie game lover their own little adventure away from the original game story. And really...all that matters in the end is that it's an enjoyable experience. :D
I should've mentioned that though...Lost Souls -does- look like a good change of pace from the other HL2 mods.
HL2 mods just don't capture the same atmosphere and personality as HL1 mods do...most HL2 mods just feel like a modified clone of at least another HL2 mod in my opinion. Anyways, great work so far. I bet both this and D3ads' Forgotten will be great, hands down. :D
By the way...are there less steps on the stairs...? (referencing the first pics you took of this area)
Orgasmic. I'm almost giddy that two awesome mods are in development at the same time. (And to top it off, they're both horror :D)
Penumbra isn't anything like this at all...what the hell gave you that idea...
I always thought a singleplayer co-op (just two people, not like Sven Co-op) mod would be fun, but it'd be a little difficult to implement, I would think...
Looks very, very interesting- always been a fan of horror games, and even more so the dark aspect of the human mind. Keep up the good work. :D
Still looking as great as before...any chance it'll be released this year, or is our best bet next year?
Good job so far and good luck; can't wait to see more in the future
Looks to me like the top half of the head is hanging from a piece of flesh, with tentacles or something coming out of the bottom half :o
Wow...damn cool-looking new screens there
A damn fine truck :O
You have to remember that AoM:DC was in first person...it's a lot harder to make a game that makes people jump out of their seats when they're playing in 3rd-person...
Question...how long do you estimate the play time will be? :o
I...don't quite understand why you need a flamethrower in the mod...
All I can say is "wow" Judging on those few in-game pics you have, as well as the storyline and game-play style you're planning on, this definitely earns a watch :D
To make that simple, there's a door that the player can open in Prisoncity , and it blocks one of the vents that players need to use to get out of the spawn area and into the city area.
Prisoncity and Mall both have respawning hunters, as far as I've seen. Also, when a door is opened on Prisoncity, the door that enters into the longer corridor where the vent leads out, speciffically (also the same hall where the hunters spawn; the door is barred or locked and must be opened from the other side later in the map), the door blocks the way of the vent, only allowing players spawning from a certain cell to be able to proceed into the map through the alternate vent.
Only part I didn't like about some of the maps is, that when you get to a certain point, the way(s) out of the spawn area are swarmed with hunters. (Which respawn, I might add)
I've only played one map so far, maybe got half way...and I played it alone, because my friend bailed out before I finished DLing, but from what I've seen the mod is excellent. I'll be sure to play more once I get a friend or two together. Very nice work and effort, RECB Team.
Amazing, simply amazing. I'm only a short bit into it (not too much past the time of the explosion) but I can safely say this mod is totally sick.
Anyone mind sending the code to me please? :X
Very nice to see an addition to the mod, loved the first one
What about hand to hand combat?
Are the endings at all tied into which difficulty you play it on, or doesn't it matter?
Sounds awesome, thanks
