I'm farely certain they released an SDK which included the source code for the game-logic at least.
The colours used here make little sense... They may as well run around holding a flag with the text "shoot me!"
It's a good start but using colours such as blue (or pink) do not work well with the environment the game takes place in.

Nothing wrong with creating content for such an old engine as surprisingly the limitations you'll find yourself working around will end up teaching you a lot. Working around such limitations can often teach you some great methods in regards to optimisations and various tricks.
Haha Daikatana is pretty famous for having a lot of brown and green. Luckily it's mainly just this level that has that brown tone and I'm trying to vary it as much as I can :)

Open-source remake of the construction kit for Morrowind I'm assuming.
These are in-development shots taken on my laptop with the game running in windowed mode so that I can monitor any debugging information on my other monitor (I have a dual monitor set up).
When the map and game is closer to being complete then you can certainly expect to see higher-resolution screenshots but for now I've opted to share new shots with you guys whenever something new pops up just so that we're throwing media out at a more regular basis, rather than throwing out one new screenshot every few months.
Can't really see any visual difference between your CPU lighting and CPU+GPU lighting.

I hope most of the content in this video is temporary because I've noticed there are quite a lot of textures from Half-Life and the gravity gun looks like it was taken directly from Half-Life 2...

I agree about changing the skybox to something a little higher quality. Compared to the level itself which looks incredible it just seems to stick out like a horrid smudge.

Yes... I have to say really it does actually make a considerable difference and means that we don't have to done some weird tricks to make screenshots look nice and smooth, and another plus was that it was incredibly easy to implement. Right now the implementation is a bit more solid than it was when I originally took this image (it was pretty much just wedged in) but after some testing I'm somewhat concerned that there may be some issues on certain platforms (MSAA appears to fail on my laptop), though there are fallbacks in place now if this fails but if it does then there isn't much I can do other than suggest to try it on a more up-to-date platform. Perhaps when I have more time on my hands I'll look into a better way to implement support for MSAA but honestly I'm not an expert. It'd be helpful when I'm done setting up the new renderer I'm working on but until then...

Perhaps try making the ground raise up against the ship a little more so it looks more like the sand has piled up around it overtime. Also I'm not sure if the player would see from this angle or not but the ground texture on the right is really repetitive. Other than that great work!

Why does this remind me of Dead Space?
Because the story is seriously flawed, the overall design has no consistency, the dialog is plain horrible and at times just horribly cheesy, the animations are horrific, the level design is plain and just honestly ******* horrible with no clear paths and no unique "points" which a player can recognise as reference, the AI is almost non-existant with enemies just shooting and chasing after you with no consideration for anything else and lastly the multi-player is terribly unoriginal... This is perhaps one of the worst piles of **** I've ever had the misfourtune to pay & play.

OpenKatana is a remake of Daikatana when it was using the Quake engine back in '97.
Anyone willing to make some textures for the decoration models? Romero didn't release the textures for any of the decoration models (although I'm pretty sure they exist on his computer somewhere).

This song is most likely not going to used when the mod is finished, it's mainly created so I can get an idea of what sort of "style" of music would be best for the mod. There are actually a huge number of songs like it that I have made (the mods been in development for almost two years now) which I'm probably going to release together when the mod is just about finished or if it really does dies.
I recently also uploaded a few songs that were made for the mod back in 2009 so I recommend you check those out.
I'd love to hear someone else's opinion for a change though :(
