Good advice, i've lead 2 projects so far.
1 was a complete failure, my team gave up and left and so did i.
My second and current project im heading myself, ive done most of the code, mapping and modelling and i hvae a detailed design document. Still searching for a concept artist though, most leads have turned out less then useful with either too little time or too many projects.
Never the less ive learnt to rely on myself more then anyone else, my mods hopefully going to be a big big release once i get a page up and running (hopefully in 2 months)

my only concern is the game might feel like thief deadly shadows, i kinda dis-liked it.
But seriously WOW, this is awesome work guys... you've got to be the best mod team out (no joke), release it as an indie game :P (of course you'd have to pay the makers of doom but i'm sure if you guys got popular enough they'd let you do it :P
Quick suggestion that slightly adds to gameplay (slightly being the key word)
1. Bullet tracers, make them more flashy... helps players know what they're hitting and where enemy fire is coming from
2. Muzzle flashes... because i like them :P

Yeah i did everything right, im not an idiot... its so confusing...... im thinking ill uninstall my steam version and install a fresh retail version and see if that works. Thanks for your help anyways =]

OH hey i also cant launch the game, i've got the steam version and steam says there is no new updates unless i have to update it manually... but anyway i tried both install ways and right after picture comes up it comes up with an error report, doesnt even try to load the game
Guys, try making A co-op story line version :D or objective based maps
We actually began the project a few years ago way before they even started i think, doesn't matter, yes they are alike but from this mod you can expect heavy sword combat, with Team Fortress 2 type gameplay. More to come
How long until we can expect a nice big patch fixing things and adding things? :P:P:P
Needs a little more balancing with the weapons but holy @#$% this game is so good that i wish i had made it -_-

Okay, ive seen other GMOD- game modes like this and they were boring, souly because all you did was sit around and improve your skills and there was nothing to kill. Add randomly spawning monsters that are always in a place so you can actually do something, then i suggest random events like monster attacks, or enivroment events like tornado's etc. Just to make it more interesting
Mostly the camera and button / combo components. I've just started getting my feet wet in unreal script ( i come from a XNA and HL2 coding background) and i'm actually making my own hack and slash game using XNA (Indie Project, should be on the moddb pages in a few months).
I'm actually very interseted in hearing how you actually coded that in, as its currently what i want to try to do, just cbf
