Herp de derp. This space will be filled with words.
Yep! It will all trickle down.
They have only ever won once.
Well PR has already won editors choice mp mod in the past.
There is quite a large number of people downloading at the moment from ModDB, please have patience.
umm not even close dude lol...
I did, and that my friend is how the world works. If you dont like Natural Selection im sure the other 1000 players who love it think your wrong in your assessment.
dear esther just gets under your skin, spooked me out when i was recording the video.
Everyone with the correct amount of work in entitled to being on the front page.
where is the "I buy my games online just not digitally"
its a fantastic mod, i would hope everyone trys it!
ahaha yeah its a new name :P
original gameplay all the way, thats why im making my mod
ahaha yeah every chance he had to blackspot games he did, i see it just the same as a graphic novel, novel or movie. Games are a way of telling stories no matter how graphic they are.
do you mean violence in games that have gotten media attention?
maps would be art i suppose, something like Minerva is a good example of art working without too much heavy code (i do know that code is sometimes needed to get things to work).
hey nice work on the maps, tell me something how did you get the pickups to spin like that?
NO WAI NAKED GIRLS>>>>> :P
OK cool idea, i would like to start off by asking this, do you think art (this would use standard game settings, but have original and amazing work) or coding (would use default textures and models but have really original game play and extras) alone can make a mod great... Pick one :P
Honestly i think art would get a mod out there more then code if it was one or the other!
yeah there will be, after the code is perfect or close to perfect ill be making new models, weapons etc. So just wait it will all happen very soon!
wow a good read Scott, really wish you invited me i could have pimped my resume :P, this is why people mod, its the only real way to get experience in the industry when your fresh outta luck trying with the big boys who all say the same thing "come back in a few years when you have some more experience".
The hardest part to this industry is getting noticed... so you kinda have to be cheesy with your mod pimping :P. Thanks again Scott for giving us all the opportunity to get exposed... (not naked i mean mod wise).
My question is did anyone talk to you about moddb?
:O how on earth>>>?
dont think so
Hey guys and girls!
Im posting here to get some help with my current project you might have seen it in the ModDB news section Moddb.com and im looking for some source programmers to help me get my mod to the place I need it to be!
The mod Gauntlet is there to try and re-make the arcade feeling from games, with player lives, scoreboards, traditional cameras and other features that I need help to implement. So please if you think you can help me out send me a pm!
make up your own ideas, keep in simple and keep it fun and you have a mod
lol i have no idea what you mean with that comment
something like that, its not a remake but it dose have heavy influence from a lot of arcade games, smashtv is one of them
password is in the most recent news post
something like that, i dont want to release too much! lol.
yeah mate i see coop working in my favor here too, i have emailed the creator of extermination hopefully he can help me out.
atm you need hl2, css and the sdk, i plan to fix it tho.
yeah im currently fixing some stuff, decals arnt on my list atm but im going to set up options so you can change in game how much blood you want to see.
bluemoonruns... try reading the news lol :P
if you were to read my new news post it tells you there, but ill say it here bluemoonruns you guys can still email me bug fixes
just follow the readme mate, install to the correct directory etc
i intend to make my own foes from the ground up, new weapons textures etc. But for now im using them just for the sake of showing something off!
yeah mate sure will, im about to make a new post with a game play demo from the second beta, lots of new stuff!
read the readme it should tell you everything you need to know, make sure you extract the game into your source mods directory
i updated the news blog with all the mod info
lol before i get any bad rep this was based on smod and the credits have been updated for beta 2.0 in a rush to get it out there (and yes i did rush half the files aren't even protected by the password lol) i didnt put in the credits. SO there you go there are reasons for things, i not stealing anyones work here, smod is just a more powerful base to get things started off.
Sorry for any confusion.
yeah im sure i have in the readme i might have missed it tho. But it will be updated with the new beta which is coming out soon
This should be fixed now.
It is hardly a quote if we change the text.
If you read the start it was taken directly from a forum post on the ubisoft site. It is disappointing that you can't have shark pools in MP that could make for some interesting gameplay.
you still need to complete the game first.
I've played it for roughly about 10 hours or so, but I explored a lot. I have been stuck in a few places as well but all that should be fixed in the public build. So if you are quick possibly 8-9 hours.
Needs to be released or have a demo out.
Needs to be a featured release
That particular quote is from Warren Spector Bit.ly but ya' know thats cool.
How did I do that? All I did was read off the name...
You can thank the player votes for that, nothing to do with the editors choice.

Well I did say in the news post...
quite the opposite mate, we are getting large numbers of visitors every day with over 2 million unique visitors a month and growing.
As I said I didnt know too much, but thanks for the correction.
No worries its worth it.
:3 I try my best :P
You can press control and select the objects orientation before you place it. It's handy so you wont be switching between two tools all the time.
yeah I released the video a tad too early (same day in fact)
not a great deal mate :D
allrittte sup doood, you likie the l4d?
run the exe and play, its made on gamemaker
looks awesome reminds me of dead rising. All you need now is a decent inventory system and have the weapons break over time.
that is up to you, just take a look at the posts that do get on the front page and you will see what you have to make it look like.
ahaha that made my day mate kudos!
No I think YOUR missing the point as to WHY they made it simple! I'm not going to repeat myself so just read my replies above.
if you can name a few titles you think should be on i'll gladly go over the mods.
Too give you an idea, the staffers do put in quite a bit of work to the site. We do pm teams, we do ask them to fix up news posts, we actively seek new teams to do features on or get into the modcast. The thing is they either say "hell yea lets do this" and then that's all we hear from them or its no response at all. And believe me this is not just limited to small teams, the mod team behind AOC is one of the many extra content mod teams we endeavor to help out but they just never seem to come through, most of the time its to do with other things stopping them from helping out, or they don't want to work with us and make new content. These things don't come from nothing each video/modcast/preview/review has quite a bit of prep just to get mod teams wanting to put time into it.
To answer your question Moddb does go out on a limb trying to get the content for you guys, its up to the mod teams to want to participate in the whole thing. Sure we may miss a few but that's because we are doing other things as well (plus we are only human). And don't get me wrong I know where your coming from its frustrating to see only the larger titles on the front page (it only takes a splash of colour other then the text upon text that we tend archive), but be that as it may those are the teams that have the drive to seek out this exposure. It might seem like a big ask, to make a half decent news post after the months and months of work but its possibly one of the most important aspects of being a modder!
Sorry I have rambled :P
if mods do seek exposure then myself and the other staff are more then happy to help, all it takes is a PM to Stenchy or myself and if you work along side us we can help get your mod the attention you want. In fact I've been short listing some mods to get known through a new ModDB TV feature called Sneak Peek (shouldn't be hard to work out what that one is about). So just contact some people, it's all about putting yourself out there and putting some effort into making yourself known.
the spotlight and the modcast talk about all mods released who put work into making a decent news post. We cannot help thos who do not help themselves.
you'll also need the SDK base files...
EDIT: you beat me to the punch :P
fraps killed the frames so much it could not be featured...
hahahha amen to that!
we will keep em coming dont worry about that!
well arnt you silly, here is my movie, Youtube.com
ahaha Gordan would say something like "OMG ALEX SHUT THE F@*K UP ALREADY!"
heeh ill be waiting for that day!
i think he should talk in a series of grunts that vary in tone and volume to talk to people.
i beat you a lot ryan
just so you know you can only get one perk from each line, so i total all you can have is 3 active perks.
wooops i posted in the wrong section ahahaha
good idea misconceptions are a bad thing :D good luck with it all, if you keep making models to the quality of the AK your going to have a very good mod on your hands.
I agree its a massive plus when i know i can always access my games no matter where i am. The only problem i have with steam is that most of the time i dont get the new games (cos im in Australia) so its like hmmm.
where is the love?
LOL who did you think it was?
thanks for the modwatch, Beta 2.0 is coming out soon! Check back for details in a few days!
you need to have hl2, css, dod, lost coast, and hl2dm installed.
i want to be you
some people like myself use modding as a way to creativly expand there CV or portfolio
