Because its a site designed to cater to indies... That and we have plenty of expansions in mind, like we are tossing up the idea of hosting web based games on the profiles who release, so for example playing flash or unity web games in the indie profile. Nothing like that will be on ModDB as there is no need for it. It may be barebones atm but it will be a different site later down the road.

The reason I stated that you guys where switching between engines was because of this profile which was created by you. So please let me know how we can talk about stuff when the information isnt available.

yes but there are limitation for the service we choose to provide. After the show its no problem to allow either the video to be downloaded or the audio as well (in fact right now on my second screen the mod cast is rendering out in HD glory, plus a pure audio file with all the non-speaking bits removed as well). Measures are being taken atm to provide a more stable service, now that we know we have access to the quality stream we were after we can work on bettering the entire show so its more accessible, these include cooperating with the staff of justin.tv to bring the best possible solution for the next show.

comparing a mod which is a usermade peice of software (not industry professionals with budgets and about 30-50 people working on the damn thing)to a professional game is just a retarded thing to do mate. Yeah sure they have a lot of work to do but in the end there is no need to say that. If anything compare the mod to other mods, that way they are at leased in the same area.

now back to the topic at hand, HL2 is going to be difficult for racing, just check out how many bugs DIPRIP had, your going to have to make a theme as someone suggested to keep people playing.

your allow to believe that, but how many people can you count that have committed a crime based on a movie or tv show? There are more there was even a reported case of some guy getting a sword and walking onto a highway and started swinging it at cars (referring to the matrix movies here).

Sure games can be violent this is part of the charm, the same thing goes for graphic novels or action movies... if you had a movie with no action... or shooting it wouldn't be an action movie,

same thing goes for games, depending on what you have the player doing it will be different for each game. Handling a rifle in real life is much harder then the games make out to be (i lived on a farm for most of my life i can comment on this), so saying that games TRAIN people to shoot others is just silly.

Its like saying Micheal Jackson teaches people to molest children because people like him... lol :P (possibly a bad example)

OK cool idea, i would like to start off by asking this, do you think art (this would use standard game settings, but have original and amazing work) or coding (would use default textures and models but have really original game play and extras) alone can make a mod great... Pick one :P

Honestly i think art would get a mod out there more then code if it was one or the other!

The hardest part to this industry is getting noticed... so you kinda have to be cheesy with your mod pimping :P. Thanks again Scott for giving us all the opportunity to get exposed... (not naked i mean mod wise).
