Great. I thought the old ones looked terrible, but I was too polite to say. :D
"historically accurate" made me chuckle too :)
<sigh> Okay, fine.
wow its amazing!
This looks much better than Blockade Runner
Oh for sure, just wondering if it was planned for anytime in the future.
Any plans to add ragdolls? Morrowind + Oblivion ragdolls for crunchy combat would be my perfect open-world RPG
The game feels a lot more stable now. Great stuff :)
They just released a massive patch fixing a ton of stuff and the first comment is someone complaining for more?
'Great work guys, thanks for the patch. Any chance of enabling Steam Cloud in a future update?'
A little politeness goes a long way.
There are plenty of photos of real Zone farmhouses out there as reference.
Good stuff. Still can't believe it's called G String.
I just googled him. As a fencer myself, it always nice to see someone trying to promote western martial arts. :)
Content is the killer for long projects. Good luck.
No problem, it's just my two cents. Good luck with the game!
Yeah I use MSPaint too. I don't need no new-fangled Photoshop! I'm making a roguelike, I found a nice bit of free software for designing 2d tile based maps which I use for the premade (not random) levels
Looks good mate. What development tools are you using?
I have. They mention introducing specialist Stalker suits at the end. They protect you from heat etc and if I remember correctly have their own closed air supply. Thats about all the detail you are given. I aways imagined they looked like the scientist suits in the game. In the book there are no mutants or murderous fellow stalkers (at least not usually! and not with guns) to deal with, jut anomalies.
I agree. It's a nice picture and I'm sure he enjoyed drawing it, but when I want to see more Sector 23 and I follow a link to some pointless 'concept art' it's very disappointing.
If you are talking about putting items up here on MODDB, well you already got my attention and I'm tracking the game. If I see posts everyday I won't be looking at them. I usually stop tracking games that put up to many updates because it gets annoying. I think it's better to wait until you have a lot to say and show. I'm mostly interested in descriptions of features and mechanics or gameplay videos, so I know if the game is for me. Not the kind of thing you can post every day.
I understand you want to promote your game though, but perhaps moddb is not the place to advertise. I think it's better as a destination to send people to once you got them hooked, so they can track the game and be notified on release.
Thats just me though :) Some people lap up every tiny bit of concept art that comes their way.
My first thought. :)
Actually, my first thought was 'does it slay dooms? Can you even slay a doom?'
What language are you building this in? I found inventory are fiddly but not too hard, don't be put off.
Great that was a really annoying effect!
I had a quick shot of the demo. On the first deployment, my first guy was shot dead dead instantly on stepping out of the transport craft by an unseen sniper. When I got the rest of the team off the chopper the rookie with the RPG misfired and blew up himself and two other squad mates. This caused the rest of the survivors but one to panic and either freeze on the spot or drop their weapons and run. The one remaining soldier with his wits together shot at an alien, missed and killed a civilian.
I just hate to fall back on Internet memes but...
Motion capture? oooh you guys are serious! I always assume a project that produces nothing but pretty concept art for months is probably doomed, but I'm impressed here! :)
Always was my favorite ship.
I don't want to try this, because I know if it doesn't take 3 proton torpedoes to destroy each SD shield generator, it's not going to feel right.
