But, I like programming!
Any Russian speakers know what that means?
So true! The guy who does Evochron is terrified of colour though :)
Maybe I should have said 'actual person' then, but yeah. Guess I'm getting old.
I think a game were I beat up an actual real woman, even if it is still pretend, would make me uncomfortable.
I know you say 'FPS is still very good' but my graphics card just squealed and kicked it's fans up a notch in reflex.
They just released a massive patch fixing a ton of stuff and the first comment is someone complaining for more?
'Great work guys, thanks for the patch. Any chance of enabling Steam Cloud in a future update?'
A little politeness goes a long way.
I just googled him. As a fencer myself, it always nice to see someone trying to promote western martial arts. :)
Yeah I use MSPaint too. I don't need no new-fangled Photoshop! I'm making a roguelike, I found a nice bit of free software for designing 2d tile based maps which I use for the premade (not random) levels
Looks good mate. What development tools are you using?
My first thought. :)
Actually, my first thought was 'does it slay dooms? Can you even slay a doom?'
Great that was a really annoying effect!
Motion capture? oooh you guys are serious! I always assume a project that produces nothing but pretty concept art for months is probably doomed, but I'm impressed here! :)
Questverse Anime Space RPG. The only way to make that better is an exclamation mark.
Questverse Anime Space RPG!
I'm getting update fatigue with this game.
They are products of the screw-up in the noosphere. Complete SoC and it tells you all about the origins of the Zone and it's weirdness.
It has been 42 minutes since I shot a zombie in a videogame. A record.
Fantastic. I love it.
Sounds great. :)
Those things are so slow. Don't they hit like 60 with all power to engines? Look good though. :)
"Hundreds of doors, chests, desks etc have been locked in order to make it easier for the player to level up security." - Fixed :P
I think that's just a sarcastic attempt at humour. It failed, true, but don't take it seriously.
Can you tell us more about the new systems and mechanics please? All the eye candy you guys put up is great, but I'm more interested in how you've changed how the game actually plays. Thanks
I don't think Balmora has a sewer in vanilla. So the difference is...they exist. :)
Looks nice. Good work.
Alcohol doesn't cause hallucinations.
Thats....actually realy ugly. A first for Freeworlds!
You got a problem with trapezoids? Huh? Not equelateral enough for you?
I thought he(she?) was know as The Navigator?
He was saying it looks awesome even though it's not Source. It was a compliment and he got buried.
Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but as this is a shader is it compatible with other mods? It looks great but vanilla CoP is not worth playing.
I don't know why, but every time someone finds out just how hard making games is, it warms my heart. :)
Nice art style. I just don't like the standard anime hero portrait.
Hold teh line! Teh red men are coming!!!11!
Did you see the earlier versions?
Nice work dude.
Or dudette. Whatever the case may be!
Read the description :)
Nice work fellas! I've just done a run through the original XCOM. Can't wait to see more of your work.
I think it just means shielded from radiation.
Agreed. The game looks great but why is it on the Descent profile?
Rolling thunder. :D
Great. I thought the old ones looked terrible, but I was too polite to say. :D
"historically accurate" made me chuckle too :)
<sigh> Okay, fine.
wow its amazing!
This looks much better than Blockade Runner
Oh for sure, just wondering if it was planned for anytime in the future.
Any plans to add ragdolls? Morrowind + Oblivion ragdolls for crunchy combat would be my perfect open-world RPG
The game feels a lot more stable now. Great stuff :)
There are plenty of photos of real Zone farmhouses out there as reference.
Good stuff. Still can't believe it's called G String.
Content is the killer for long projects. Good luck.
No problem, it's just my two cents. Good luck with the game!
I have. They mention introducing specialist Stalker suits at the end. They protect you from heat etc and if I remember correctly have their own closed air supply. Thats about all the detail you are given. I aways imagined they looked like the scientist suits in the game. In the book there are no mutants or murderous fellow stalkers (at least not usually! and not with guns) to deal with, jut anomalies.
I agree. It's a nice picture and I'm sure he enjoyed drawing it, but when I want to see more Sector 23 and I follow a link to some pointless 'concept art' it's very disappointing.
If you are talking about putting items up here on MODDB, well you already got my attention and I'm tracking the game. If I see posts everyday I won't be looking at them. I usually stop tracking games that put up to many updates because it gets annoying. I think it's better to wait until you have a lot to say and show. I'm mostly interested in descriptions of features and mechanics or gameplay videos, so I know if the game is for me. Not the kind of thing you can post every day.
I understand you want to promote your game though, but perhaps moddb is not the place to advertise. I think it's better as a destination to send people to once you got them hooked, so they can track the game and be notified on release.
Thats just me though :) Some people lap up every tiny bit of concept art that comes their way.
What language are you building this in? I found inventory are fiddly but not too hard, don't be put off.
I had a quick shot of the demo. On the first deployment, my first guy was shot dead dead instantly on stepping out of the transport craft by an unseen sniper. When I got the rest of the team off the chopper the rookie with the RPG misfired and blew up himself and two other squad mates. This caused the rest of the survivors but one to panic and either freeze on the spot or drop their weapons and run. The one remaining soldier with his wits together shot at an alien, missed and killed a civilian.
I just hate to fall back on Internet memes but...
Always was my favorite ship.
I don't want to try this, because I know if it doesn't take 3 proton torpedoes to destroy each SD shield generator, it's not going to feel right.
Better I guess, but still needs to be up by another factor of 100. After playing the I-War games and stuff like that, the tiny planets always bugged me in FL. I know it's an arcade game and not a simulator, but it really murdered the suspension of disbelief.
I'm quietly optimistic about this mod, I'm hoping it can re-create some of the good old X-Wing and Tie Fighter days. Most of the updates are concerning the shineyness of the graphics, it's hard to get a handle on how it will play.
Are the planets still about a kilometre in diameter?
Looking for artifacts?
Pure sex as always.
I really hope these ugly things are very rare. Ok, I mean technically they are canon, but damn, they look so, so, wrong. They really put me off playing this mod.
I think I could handle them if they are really rare, freak things.
BUT TIE FIGHTS DON'T HAVE HYPERDRIVES!!!!!
Phew, I feel much better now.
Fantastic work. Well Done. Can't have too much S.T.A.L.K.E.R!
