"Lets do this.." Malan mumbled to himself and then gave out orders to his senior officers who were waiting for orders.

The Ruusan force opens fire, diverting all available power to weapons and forwards deflectors. The fleet focus fire on the Corvettes.

The Hyper-Velocity gun, now take on a 3rd Venator.*

*A bright light shines in the Mandalorian fleet as one the Venators is hit by the Slugs of the Hyper-velocity gun, on the planets surface, battering down the particle shields and the armor quickly before hitting the ship's power generator causing a massive explosion.

Malan observes the ship disappearing from the Strategic HoloMap. He now looks at countdown on his personal Datapad, it was a countdown till when the Mandalorians was in weapons range of the fleet. He was contemplating retreating, but every time they made an engagement, they would always be outnumbered and outgunned. The force he was commanding wouldn't last long.

His thoughts returned to the immediate situation. "Commander, send word to all ships to have their spotters primarily looking for those stealth vessels. We know they are there, it is just a matter of finding them."

Once again he was looking at the HoloMap of the system. The Mandalorians was now flying through the wreckage of the first engagement at Deysum. Allot of starfighters and bombers where floating around, having been victims of the Buzz droids or Corvette fire.

The Hypervelocity gun fires at another Venator, just as the Mandalorian ships enters weapon range.*

FEDERATION SENATOR:

"You spoke well, Mr. Thain." The Senator said and gave a small bowing gesture. Some also noticed that this was the same Senator who made the spontaneous public speech on Eriadu.

"In light of these events, the Federation extends an offer of military aid to the neutral sectors who wish it. However, the Federation in uncomfortable with risking a potentially very straining conflict, so in order to hopefully avoid both further aggression from the Mandalorians and more conflicts, we propose a treaty, we propose membership into the Federation."

He continued after taking something to drink; "I shall now bore you with going through the entire Treaty and you have all had it in advance for some time now. Basically what this treaty means is that you are offered full membership in the Federation, with each sector getting a predetermined number of seats on the Senate based and size and the number of systems. Locally, you retain your own security, government and to a certain extent, your own laws. The latter part meaning that the Federation preserve the right to enforce nation wide Laws and Acts like, The Right of Sentience or Laws against certain products proclaimed Illegal by the Senate.

You can all of course look further into this, as all this Legislation is for public viewing on the Holonet. Now a short break where you can talk internally and think a little of what I have said. As soon as you are ready, we will continue and the word can be passed around for those who wish to speak, or perhaps have already decided.

Thank you for listening."

"Thank you. Let it first be known, that the Council was in agreement of refusing the Mandalorians, both their claim, and their offer. The claim being that the Ruusan systems were housing terrorist organisations, whom are supposedly attacking the Mandalorians from within our borders, their justification for this conflict. Their offer was to join their Hegemony.

In the case of their claim, before they attacked, there was no indication of terrorists and since there attack, there still isn't. But there will be! Sooner or later, people will take matters into their own hands, because in all honestly, our military stand no chance of winning on their own. To make it worse, the conflict have split the council, the various systems are switching their allegiance to whomever they think can save them. Some might soon accept the Mandalorians offer, some have called upon The Empire and some are even talking with the Hutts!

In case of my own system, and homeworld; Ruusan. I hope that the Federation may be able to help, And they have responded with an offer, a treaty of membership. I will let them talk more about that."

"People of the Mandalorian Hegemony. Surrender to the Ruusan Sector Council unconditionally. This will be your final chance."

The fleet took up position now a little further away from the planet (Opposite side of you of course). It was set up in a formation with 2 Nebula Star Destroyers in front of each Endurance Carrier. Additional 5 Coronas fill the gaps with the corvettes spread out to achieve maximum coverage around the capital ships, yet still taking relative cover. Starfighters take care of what the corvettes can't defend.

Unknown the the Mandalorians, the Ruusan fleet had made a short trip back, only to turn around and fly past them in hyperspace just out of sensor range. It came out of hyperspace right on the flank the Mandalorian forces above Deysum and opened fire, diverting power to front shields and turbolasers, targeting shield generators and bridges. Since the Mandalorian fleet near Uogo'cor might not be far behind, a timer was set to -5 minutes to the travel time from Uoro'cor.*

*The primitive nuclear weapons was even less effective. Technology had evolved far past such sensitivity. On the ground Malan was looking at the tactical situation, also observing the Mandalorian fleet re-position. He sent the word to the men. "Plug'em in". The power generators was now plugged into to two structures, one of them a shield generator and another a Hyper-velocity gun. Upon watching the shield encompassing the fortified section of the city, Malan received a communication, not even encrypted and saying nothing else but "Operation Scarecrow failed. Greet the guests."

Malan boarded a shuttle craft and left for orbit, keeping a keen eye on the Mandalorian fleet as he approached it slowly and the stopping some distance away, not to close to the Mandalorian ships, yet still out of range of the Hyper-Velocity gun.*

On the surface, Malan smiled, the Ion fire had limited effect. The work continued.

Uogo'cor:

The Mandalorian force was ripped out of hyperspace on their way there. The Ruusan fleet had set up an interdiction field just outside the system of Uogo'cor and was ready. Once the first Mandalorian ships existed hyperspace their opened fire and jammed all outbound communications, only targeting shield generators at first, and focusing on the capital ships. On each flank several wings of bombers moved in to target bridges and engines. Starfighters provided cover and distraction for the bombers.

OOC: Since I didn't make the GM aware of my ambush, I guess it is only fair to let you decide the initial damage.

Ruusan fleet(Including garrison of Uogo'cor): 4 Nebula Class Destroyers, 2 Endurance-class carries, 10 Corona Frigates and 7 Nexus-Class Corvettes.

On Ruusan, an argument was breaking out in the Council, the representatives were threatening to leave the council and find other allies if forces weren't sent to aid them. A tired Thain state that; "We cannot risk loosing our forces in an attempt to break through the Mandalorian lines, even if we succeed there would barely be any ships left to aid you!".

"The fleet is doing nothing. Where is it even? You refuse to tell us where it is!" the Chalactan representative responded. "If you will not aid my system, then perhaps the Hutts will!". The Chalactan and Umbrikkian representatives gives a nod to each other.

"HUTTS!?" The New Apsolon representatives yells. "We cannot trust those slugs! They will back stab us the first time they get. We need to look towards the Core. The Empire does not want anymore Mandalorian expansion than the Federation, but at least we can count on more extensive aid than "humanitarian aid"."

The argument continued long into the night with no clear ends meet*

*Only few Starfighters are effected. As he had hoped, the Mandalorians used the same strategies as before and even did so prematurely. He only now ordered the Starfighters and Bombers to enter combat and they broke ranks with the fleet, which until had provided some cover.

Starfighters distract the StarVipers and Crusaders from the bombers at all costs, taking medium losses. The Bombers were targeting the Venators, focus firing on shield generators and bridges.

While the Starfighters and Bombers had gained the upper hand for the moment, things were looking dire for the rest of the fleet. Malan looked out the bridge window as a flash got his eye. One of the Carriers had lost its shields, unfortunately, secondary explosion took place in the power core and the ship exploded before it could be evacuated.

One of the officers on the bridge notified Malan that all the Frigates had been either destroyed or disabled and that the second carries shield were severely weakened. For now the Corvettes were doing fine.

The officer had only just finished updating Malan on their losses before an explosion on the bow of the command ship caused a tremor throughout the ship, almost causing Malan to fall.

"Sir, we've lost shields on the bow sir! The generators are damaged, I'm unable to recycle shields on that area!" someone shouted. "Order all personal to evacuate that area. Tell them they have 40 seconds, then close all shutters. That's an order." Malan replied, after which he turned to the communications officer. "Have the Corvettes disengage and pick up as many escape pods as they can, then retreat to Ruusan". The officer gave him a nod and did so.

A few minutes more, Malan thought to himself*

He orders the crew to start jamming their sensors and any signals that is detected coming from the Mandalorian ships towards the defense fleet. Since their ships was hardly automated in any way, if was limited to what effect hacking could really be and thus never have been a threat in wars. However, due to the unknown origin of this hack, he was taking no chances.

Malan looks at the Weapons officer as the first volley hits the shields of the flagship. "Well fire back you idiot!". And the defense fleet opens fire. The carriers launch all their fighters and bombers as they are gonna need them. The Star fighters take the front with orders to protect the bombers. They move in conjunction with the fleet as in moves forward at a steady pace.

On Ruusan the council received word of the latest from Random. The council had heard no reports of Mandalorians ships passing through their systems. After a while the Council finally decides on opening up communications per the Mandalorian request, although they had made things quite clear. A Meeting was out of the question, as with an envoy means warships and they would allow none to pass Deysum for now.*

But yes, why should we concern ourselves with things so distant? Besides upholding the standards which we stand for and the obvious ramifications. Well let me present the facts;

There are NO evidence to suggest that the Mandalorians will stop there, in fact it is quite the opposite.

Secondly the actions of the Mandalorians have spurred several neutral sectors into talks with the Senate about Federation membership. Should this occur, these "so distant" events are gonna happen right next door."

The Senator held a little pause to drink some water and then rounded off with;

"It is time for the Federation to take a stance, not through speeches or strength of arms. But by taking action! And through these actions, we can hope help our allies, our friends and those in need. By standing up for what we believe in!"

Maybe you do not know where you are, but the Federation have values, compassion among those, values that we are proud of!"

A subtle applause interrupts the Senator for a moment and he continues.

"There may not be any immediate need for humanitarian aid. But once the fighting begins there will be. Should the war draw out, more and more resources will be diverted to the military, essential things like food and electricity. You would have us wait until it happens?"
