I think a full restart will be too harsh for minecraft, instead it should be like an xp restart exp:

level 2: need 1000 xp to level, you get 1000 xp and level up.
level 3: need 2000 xp to level, you die so xp counter is reset, your still at level 2 but xp is at 0 now and you need to get to 2000 from 0

This way the higher your level is, the more annoying it will be to die, and if you die you wont lose all your work only part of it

Just got my psp on boxing day and hacked it with half byte loader and hen 6.20. The game runs great other then the loading screens but I understand. I only have one problem, the iron sight on the pistol seems to be too far to the left. Other than that the game is GREAT!!!! can't wait for more updates and possibly some dedicated servers.

I have to say I found the game pretty enjoyable( I built a cool castle with an under ground base :P), but the things that really bugged me were that when I pressed alt to delete an object it would always open the pause menu and when I was trying to type a title and description for my picture it, would close if I pressed space bar or "I" which would do what the button would do and have me press f1 to open the menu again, thankfully my text was still there!

I don't see why you would need a forge mode, becuase they are using bsp's. You could go download hammer and learn how to make a map yourself, without the need of having to use forge to make maps.

The quake engine is written in c so you would need to learn c (I never learned c, but I do know a good amount of c++, and their both quite similar). You would also need a c compiler (May I recommend Microsoft visual c++ 2008 express edition (its c++ and c) Microsoft.com), you will also need the quake source code (link to quake source code compatible with msvc++ 2008 Quake-1.com). You also might want to go get a beginners book on c from your local library or book store. Also check around the inside3d forums they have a bunch of engine side tutorials, and quake c side tutorials on it.

For coding it depends what your trying to do, if your just trying to make a mod for quake all you need to do is learn quake c, download the quake source files. and get a quake c compiler. If your trying to make a stand alone game your gonna need to do some engine coding. The quake engine is written in c so you need to learn that, and you will have to download all of the source files for the engine. Check out inside3d it has a bunch of quake c tutorials and the forum is really useful if you need a question answered.

There is a bug in the code, if you have no ammo in your inventory but have ammo in your clip, you can't use the gun.
