It would be awesome to have doors that open/close/lock/etc.
I was thinking along the same lines.
Hey, here's an idea: have that map display the current game's map, except a minute or two behind. That would be really neat. It would be like the officers are reviewing what's been happening.
2 light sources = Awesome.
This looks awesome.
We make shields, shield buffs, and shield accessories!
I'm pretty sure a runway is "realistically" inferior to the easily shielded hangar they have on the 2142 Titan, but I would bet you're right. Rule of cool comes first, although I would find it amusing if the runway could be strafed.
I suspect this Titan will have inferior weapons to the 2142 one, although we will see.
Looks like a Vasari siege frigate icon at an odd angle.
Thank you! This is much more pleasant to look at.
"There's too many of them! We're going down! Aaaaauuuuuugggghhhhhh!!"
I'm sure we've all seen professional stuff that is WORSE, so...
lol, I was referring to "flies spread disease, so keep yours closed" which I think we can agree isn't the most polite thing to say.
I need to see Monty Python and the Holy Grail. I've seen bits and pieces but it just isn't enough!
I understand your concern, but that gives you no right to insult myself or anyone else. I've been following the development of this game for many months, at least a year, I think, and mathias has shown nothing but enthusiasm and professionalism in his dedication to creating a quality game. Sure, maybe it won't be the super-ultra-amazingest game ever, but I'm sure it will stand in its own right, be friendly to modding, and most definitely be finished.
I'm proud to support indies like DSS whose devs interact with their community and find joy in sharing their game, even if it's not perfect yet.
Like other people are saying, very, VERY bright. The best website colors I've seen for reading is the "parchmenty" colors of FiMFiction.net.
I think I prefer the old dark scheme, it was very comfortable.
But other than that, this is very nice.
Edit: huh, seems Fimfiction.net is using white now, too. Oh yeah, I remember disliking that when they switched it now. I think they are using an off white, which helps, but their main saving grace is they use a large font-size.
It's good. The lighting/brightness seems a bit off (too dark, mainly), but it's very smooth and clean art.
That is awesome. Especially that the ships and stations are technically the same thing.
Not saying you should put in mining stations, but I imagine either the stations would be mobile themselves, or there would be tugs to pull them to new clusters.
This isn't a suggestion for DSS either, lol, more like food for thought; but in Space, Pirates, and Zombies there were asteroids with infinite resources, but only the largest mining lasers could access them. The mining bases there packed such large lasers for that very purpose.
Amusingly, given this new perspective, the ship the wreckage came from might actually be smaller than that cruiser parked there.
Very close in size, either way.
The wreck kinda looks like it belongs to the enemy, with the black hull and whatnot.
Yeah, it's definitely a pretty big ship, but just how HUGE it actually is depends on the scaling of the ships and stations. I hope everything is to a consistent scale, dssmathias.
I think it's a bit too long and not "clicky" enough. Like it would start to wear on you after hearing it over and over.
This is the first reveal of it though, and as it will be part of a larger whole, it can't truly be judged yet. But still, something to keep in mind.
He's not asking to be able to build more components on the bottom. Do you see how all the bottoms are identical? He is suggesting that each component have not only the top structure as they do now, but also a bottom structure.
So say you build a crammed living quarters on a hex-base, and it puts the big blocky tower on top, but then it also puts several smaller towers or some-such "hanging" off the bottom.
What is considered an artifact is so subjective that no single image can encompass "artifacts".
Messed up my reply.
Maybe the Genie's lamp from Aladdin for the antiques shop? There's lots of famous artifacts throughout history that would make a sufficient picture. The Ark of the Covenant, for example, has a very distinct shape.
I'm pretty sure the vanilla Sins justification for all the lights is that all the worlds are already heavily populated and you're just establishing control over them. That's why every planet is able to afford a defending militia fleet.
Amusingly, I saw a discussion on the Aurora forums about this exact terraforming effect a week or two ago.
I think it might need a little depth, though. Feels a bit flat.
Perhaps some stars in it?
I'm pretty sure that's a vanilla Sins one.
Maud is like... wait, no similes.
This is awesome, but all those biodomes looks kind of lame.
Suggestion: random alternate models for some modules. Mix things up a little visually.
They haz no legs... D:
Better controls is always better.
So many games have been off-putting to me because of bad interface.
I don't think he's complaining so much as pointing out that you are dropping quite a few images in a relatively short time. You're outdoing the Bronies of Moddb group ATM, and they upload some image about once a day!
I don't have any complaints, it's a slow time of the year for modding, so a game putting interesting images out is nice.
I'll admit that all the images have made quite sure I won't forget this game any time soon.
Neat. It looks nice.
"too many stars" "unrealistic"
I can see Doc! I can SEE!!!
Wooh! Rainbow circles!
The synchronized firing is a little boring, but I imagine that happened because they all started in range of each other.
I hope the container yards aren't completely regular. If all the containers are in ordered rows it will be quite boring.
First thing that popped into my head upon seeing this.
I want my battleship. :/
I like your gateway. It's a lot like the ones I make, but how you have that wall section with an arch sticking out further giving it a better shape than the ones I've built.
That silver thing on the shelf at the top right?
I just realized you can't see the closed gate I mentioned... It is on my right in this image, and the bridge to this structure is on my left.
Countless hours over the course of several months.
I build big, and I'm still working on this map. For example, the tower that connects to the the netherbrick Golem Workshop still needs to have the wizard's tower built on top of it (hence the dirt staircase up to the roof).
Looks bigger than either of those if those models are to-scale with the infantry models.
Meh, it's a wee bit bigger than a large house.
Did you build it all in survival, harvesting and everything?
I like the style.
I kill plenty of M4s in my M3.
World of Tanks, by the way; in case you don't play that.
Don't say things like that. You'll jinx us.
I posted that comment before the change to a greater size. So I did read the description. :)
I'd swear I had a larger version of this, but now I can't find it; so maybe it was small like this one so I got rid of it.
I would bet these are fake on the grounds that they're in the exact same style as the Battlefield 3 cover.
Cool. Can't wait till your next update.
Yeah, I didn't like it. Late response is late.
Wow. This. is. awesome. Now we just need a color version, maybe.
I would comment on how awesome this and the images on bay12 are, but I've been blown away.
You need to step up your game, Kamin, this has been out for over two months!
I agree with Reactorcore; the movement doesn't bother me, it was pretty smooth, but even looking at the sample image before the video starts made me feel a bit off.
It was day at the time, and the moon was underground; hence, she came up from the moon.
That makes sense, right?
What a way to dodge embarrassing social situations.
That poor giant, he just wants his sock.
Those are some nicely huge mandibles, but your missing a pair of legs.
You can have them! All ten billion of them! Mwah-hah-hah-haa!
I agree with this ---> "0_o"
Wee bit heavily armed for a corvette. Just sayin'.
Yes, I like the smoke down around her feet, however, the smoke over her head looks a little odd. And I still think giving that eye a little touch-up would make your Mare-do-Well look perfect.
You know, the smoke almost looks like a face, with her standing in the mouth. Wierd.
It looks far, far, far better than anything I could draw, but I feel that it is a little lacking. I think a background would do the trick.
And I just noticed her left eye is shaped slightly different than her right. It messes up the look your going for because the eye looks like it belongs on a sad face.
Oh god! An undead grammar nazi! Fall back!
Unngghh... it is "squadron," not "squadren."
Sorry everyone, they get through the perimeter occasionally. My opinion is that this is, overall, an excellent representation of the famous TIE Fighter. Good job, lordubuxton!
I thought TIE stood for Twin Ion Engine. And the engines are on the x-axis, not the y-axis.
Oh noooes... the ramp fell down! Quick! Somebody go hold it up with their body!
Is that city in ruins?
Heh, you could have some fun with a captive colossus.
I think you should have pulled out the ballista a long time ago. Because everyone carries a ballista around, just in case.
Is it "Spot the Difference" or something like that?
That's pretty nice. I like the silvery hull color.
The "yay!" at the end is the best part.
Yes, but most of us are above 15 and go to school.
And the name is simple and informative, in my opinion.
If there's no problem, don't fix it.
And these orcas look awesome!
If that guy was a sniper, I could make a good joke about how inconspicuous a hiding spot that is.
Defintely, that is exactly what I was talking about.
Wait! They all have white stars!
Eat panthers Nazi scum!
Why do they all have white stars?
I was at a spot I could download this, YESTERDAY.
I'll go somewhere with better Internet and download it in a few days.
It being so flat makes it look a little odd.
