Looks like a Vasari siege frigate icon at an odd angle.
Thank you! This is much more pleasant to look at.
"There's too many of them! We're going down! Aaaaauuuuuugggghhhhhh!!"
I'm sure we've all seen professional stuff that is WORSE, so...
lol, I was referring to "flies spread disease, so keep yours closed" which I think we can agree isn't the most polite thing to say.
I need to see Monty Python and the Holy Grail. I've seen bits and pieces but it just isn't enough!
I understand your concern, but that gives you no right to insult myself or anyone else. I've been following the development of this game for many months, at least a year, I think, and mathias has shown nothing but enthusiasm and professionalism in his dedication to creating a quality game. Sure, maybe it won't be the super-ultra-amazingest game ever, but I'm sure it will stand in its own right, be friendly to modding, and most definitely be finished.
I'm proud to support indies like DSS whose devs interact with their community and find joy in sharing their game, even if it's not perfect yet.
Like other people are saying, very, VERY bright. The best website colors I've seen for reading is the "parchmenty" colors of FiMFiction.net.
I think I prefer the old dark scheme, it was very comfortable.
But other than that, this is very nice.
Edit: huh, seems Fimfiction.net is using white now, too. Oh yeah, I remember disliking that when they switched it now. I think they are using an off white, which helps, but their main saving grace is they use a large font-size.
It's good. The lighting/brightness seems a bit off (too dark, mainly), but it's very smooth and clean art.
That is awesome. Especially that the ships and stations are technically the same thing.
Not saying you should put in mining stations, but I imagine either the stations would be mobile themselves, or there would be tugs to pull them to new clusters.
This isn't a suggestion for DSS either, lol, more like food for thought; but in Space, Pirates, and Zombies there were asteroids with infinite resources, but only the largest mining lasers could access them. The mining bases there packed such large lasers for that very purpose.
Amusingly, given this new perspective, the ship the wreckage came from might actually be smaller than that cruiser parked there.
Very close in size, either way.
The wreck kinda looks like it belongs to the enemy, with the black hull and whatnot.
Yeah, it's definitely a pretty big ship, but just how HUGE it actually is depends on the scaling of the ships and stations. I hope everything is to a consistent scale, dssmathias.
I think it's a bit too long and not "clicky" enough. Like it would start to wear on you after hearing it over and over.
This is the first reveal of it though, and as it will be part of a larger whole, it can't truly be judged yet. But still, something to keep in mind.
He's not asking to be able to build more components on the bottom. Do you see how all the bottoms are identical? He is suggesting that each component have not only the top structure as they do now, but also a bottom structure.
So say you build a crammed living quarters on a hex-base, and it puts the big blocky tower on top, but then it also puts several smaller towers or some-such "hanging" off the bottom.
What is considered an artifact is so subjective that no single image can encompass "artifacts".
Messed up my reply.
Maybe the Genie's lamp from Aladdin for the antiques shop? There's lots of famous artifacts throughout history that would make a sufficient picture. The Ark of the Covenant, for example, has a very distinct shape.
I'm pretty sure the vanilla Sins justification for all the lights is that all the worlds are already heavily populated and you're just establishing control over them. That's why every planet is able to afford a defending militia fleet.
Amusingly, I saw a discussion on the Aurora forums about this exact terraforming effect a week or two ago.
I think it might need a little depth, though. Feels a bit flat.
Perhaps some stars in it?
I'm pretty sure that's a vanilla Sins one.
Maud is like... wait, no similes.
This is awesome, but all those biodomes looks kind of lame.
Suggestion: random alternate models for some modules. Mix things up a little visually.
Okay, this image is hilarious.
They haz no legs... D:
Better controls is always better.
So many games have been off-putting to me because of bad interface.
Oh yeah, I forgot about the turret station. Thank you.
This game is looking better and better as time goes on. I'd bet quite a sum of money you'll make the front page turntable when you release.
I notice that all the stations only expand horizontally, but the cruisers have diagonal and vertical attachment points too. Does the engine support diagonal and vertical attachment points for the stations, if a modder wished to do such a thing.
