Seeing how I'm possibly the only person in the entire planet who was looking for something like this (since the game is pretty much dead and obscure), I'll chime in on my thoughts.
My specs were:
Win7 x64
i7 3610QM
Nvidia 660m 2GB
Game was pretty much maxed out through the .ini with 8xCSAA and I installed it through the CDDrive (on the C:/ drive) after applying the 1.3 patch. I ran it at 1920x1080. Constant 60fps and even with the tweak showing more of the gameworld, I saw no FPS fluctuations.
Needless to say, this mod essentially allows you to zoom the camera to a degree that makes it comfortable to play at 1080p. AKA, no more headaches, as it basically is a FoV tweak. From what I understand, this modification had to be applied to every map shipped with the game, which sounds like highly tedious work and I truly thank the author for taking the time doing this.
Installing it could not have been simpler, I used Desura and it looks like the author made sure that the client installed everything to the right folders, however I DO have some issues:
1. If installing thru Desura, you MUST launch it from a shortcut with this target: -mod "C:\Users\Din\Documents\Battle for Middle-earth mods\Sloakz Camera Mod\SLOAKZCAMERAMOD.big"
2. The mod still says v0.8 even though this is the 1.0 release, which may confuse some.
3. It is difficult to tell, but unlike the BFME2 widescreen fix, this hasn't set the camera angle down a notch so that its looking down at the battlefield at an angle. Arguable since I'm not sure of this, didn't make any comparison pictures.
4. The camera fix applies to the opening cinematic...for some reason. Unless it was done by mistake, it lets you know that the mod is running, but it pretty much makes the sequence look kind of retarded since the camera will continue to move above the tower.
Otherwise, fantastic work. I might chip back in when I'm done beating singleplayer. :)
