to deeb97: i agree with you but high quality weapon upgrade system simply impossible "in field" (i mean changing of tactical characteristics of the firearm) GSC released firearms and upgrade system for them without understanding of "how does it works in real"
For example we have AKS-74U with METAL mag though in real it's plastic (nowadays it's poliamyde); HK MP5A3 (in game we have model of released heavy prototype of 1960-s) have moving shutter while in real it works with closed shutter (it's staying motionless); SVU's optic PSO-1M1 is attached but in such situation front iron sight should be lowered downwards (in game it's on his default place) And so on!

It will be the same weapon models. I don't see any difficulties to add any weapons for original Shadow of Chernobyl. That's why i hope there will be no any weapon upgrades.
I think weapon modify system is a bad idea. It's unrealistic and impossible "in field circumstances"
New PDA looks great, but its doubtful that I will need any games inside stalker. Ogg player looks like a good idea but most of players will have some problems with conversion of sound formats to ogg. Maybe you should release some kind of converter with your game?
Dez, once more moment. Weapon upgrade system. I think that's a bad idea. During my serving in russian forces I worked with different firearms (AK-74 series, AKMS (we had no full stock AKM), we also had the only AN-94:) with attached night scope, SVD/S, PKM/P etc.) In real field it's nearly impossible to do something GOOD with your firearm. Everything you saw in CS or CoP is impossible (i can explain it personally if you want:) also there are many weapon packs for stalker and it will be difficult to mix it without crashes.
Dez, I hope your guys won't do anything looking alike "X#Й" written with big red letters on the walls in COD Modern Warfare... Just because you have made excellent and impossible work and it would be sorry if such things will spoil atmosphere of the game (I mean russians and ukrainian players).
Dezodor, I saw the last video and during the watch I had noticed some kind of a tunnel called "ТУЗЛА"... So, I have one very important question: What does it mean? Just because "ТУЗЛА" makes me think about a city in Bosnia or about russian-ukrainian incident(looked like a conflict) with island called "TUZLA" when everyone were ready to open fire and shoot someone... :)
Call of Pripyat is already released. Less humans and more monsters with new behavior models. Now it looks great and it seems i won't go on my experiments with shadow of chernobyl.
Are you going to make switchable weather or i understood something wrong? Interesting idea. Two years ago i remade weather scripts for my stalker. Also i spent several hours trying to understand how did they return the sun/moon. Then i was surprised random weather changing (in original it depended on time of day) that was made by one of our Russian teams. It contained several weather scripts which was controlled by script in scripts folder.
P.S. dezodor, i love old 2003 build, but i don't mind if you won't return it's old graphics))))
I have saw many screens but everywhere i could see only static lightning mode. Are you going to make dynamic light?
Nice "to hear" that. Just i imagined amount of works. Mapping, A-life scripting (setting of gulags), testing etc...
What...? Only five developers? Q4 2009 looks impossible. Guys, do you need a man from Russia who can work with .ltx files and .dds textures? By the way, i'm real military expert with understanding of work inside russian recon groups (i mean army special forces).

dezodor, a few days ago i saw a report about new "Stalker: Call of Pripyat", there was new huge location called "zaton". It looks awesome and has very deep atmosphere of original game. I think, you should look at it.

Serafim12, плюс адин, но сайтик-то не наш, не поймут))) Но все же... Проект определенно стоящий, и на фоне AMK, которые собрали деньжат, разосрались, и, судя по всему, тихо скончались, ничего лучшего мы совершенно точно не увидим. Единственное что, настораживает иностранная команда - родные просторы делают все-таки. А то получится как в COD4: все вроде ровно, но ак47 и надпись йух на заборе. xD
