The leader of Stargate Shadow Magic Project.
I am huge fan of Command and Conquer: Generals, and I've been toying about idea of Winter War mod for quite long time. However, I have no skills for CnC modding, so I thought somebody would be interested here? If you don't know, Winter War was conflict between Finland and Soviet Union in 1939-1940. If there would be volunteering modeler, texture maker and coder, I could be making concept arts, coordinating team's work, and perhaps taking care of PR stuff (updating Mod DB site etc.). Basic idea of mod is that Soviet Union has great advantage of vehicles and planes, but has poor (but cheap and fast to make) infantry, while Finnish army has good, sneaky infantry but poor machinery.

Problem you are is most likely about the questioned point 2:
"2. Choose "Stargate Shadow Magic" as your AoWSM custom resources."
I quess this was written a bit unclear way. You shoul have such a file in your Age of Wonders Shadow Magic directory as "Setup", or "AoWSM Setup" or something like that. Open that, choose "Custom resources", and now there should be "Stargate Shadow Magic" on the custom resources list on that same Setup program.

I discovered a bug with map that comes with Beta version, but I will fix it immediately. Map doesn't have a working space, but stargate system should work. I'll fix the space bug and upload it here ASAP.
You know it is kinda dumb to keep it hidden so you can't get any criticism. When people do criticize, they are (normally) trying to give constructive comments so you know how to make your progress better. Even when you have tweaked and made your models and other stuff good enough and then publish your progress, I bet there is someone who gives you some tips, and if I hadn't said this, you would have probably told him to shut up and live with it.
If you are the PR guy of this game, you guys should get someone here who has more patience with people's comments and who writes properly. Seriously, proper typing gives much better image than misspelled and shortened words.
Sounds almost like you are trying to say something like "no they are not good gamemakers, we are". It is most likely my misunderstanding, but if I see it so, so might other people. That isn't exactly good for your games image.
I know you propably won't value such a noobs opinion as mine, but I suggest you stop being so aggressive when replying to peoples comments. I, too, think you should stop being secretive. "Hidden progress" gets people think that you don't have any progress.

Say, can I use some of buildings of this mod in my Stargate Shadow Magic mod for Age of Wonders: Shadow Magic? I would take the screenshots myself and then edit them to AoW, so you wouldn't have to do nothing else than give me an answer. I won't use them if you don't allow me to.
Downloaded and tried version 3.05. I'll list here some comments.
-Goa'uld staff tower's upper part moves now
-Game didn't crush at any point ;)
-Ha'tak is too powerful; I suggest you either make the radius of explosions smaller, make it cost something like 15 000 or expand it's construction time at least five times longer.
-Some of the icons are missing.
-Goa'ulds can't purchase Tel'tak
-Tau'ri can't purchase Bra'tac or Tok'ra
Then some suggestions:
-Use something else than USA Construction dozer as Tau'ri resource gatherer. You should make FRED-model.
-Remove tel'tak from the Tau'ri and put it to goa'uld.
-Remove particle uplink cannon and put ratherly Nuclear missile, just make it a new silo.
-Camouflage isn't good for the goa'uld. When they come, they come in force and just blow things up instead of sneaking and planting bombs.
-Staff tower still fires machine guns, I think it should fire same thing as deathglider.
-You can't hear or see Staff blasts of jaffas when they shoot.
Phew. I think that's all. I hope you take this as constructive criticism. :)

And you think well. It is indeed ugly, it is head of the ship on down rotation. Problem is that I do those icons using unit itself - and is that ship is such big it is hard to find good part to use as an icon.

My plans for beta include Apophis and possibly Nirtti of the System Lords. For later releases, I will add more System Lords, Heru'ur, Ba'al, Yu, Sokar etc.
I'm planning to make one race for goa'ulds at some version, when I will put more other races. Untill then, some of the Goa'ulds will have unique races with some own units. For example, Serpent Army will have Serpent Guards and Apophis Flagship, Horus Goa'ulds with Horus Guards and so on. They will however be made to one race at some point.
I haven't thought putting Asgards as a Race, because I couldn't think enough units for that. Same thing about the Ancients. Wraith and Replicators, possibly at some point, and Tok'ra will be absolutely.

Those jaffas do damage on too large areas, you can see whole group of Tau'ris getting killed at same time.

Nice pictures. I hope you have fixed/will fix Jaffa weapons to cause damage in smaller area for next version. Any new units, buildings, General's Abilities etc. coming?
Staff weapon looks a bit too thin, otherwise looking really good.
Yup, grass is always greener on other side.
Funny how it doesn't include the main infantry weapons of Finnish Defence Forces, RK95 or RK62. I don't think any of these weapons are used by the Finnish with the exception of the PKM and MAYBE the Remmington.
