I'm too dedicated, enthusiastic and faithful to a lot of people to just abandon it, seeing C&C Generals on another engine with better networking and visuals was ( and still is ) my dream.
Indeed, RA3 is very hard to work with, with all its limitation, includes and compile times, but no matter how hard it is and no matter what happens - this mod will see a light of day. I'm all for people asking for stuff, feel free to speak your mind and express your feelings. I just wish I could work on this thing full-time, sadly I'm too old for that now.

Yeah, RA3 AI does a lot of micromanagment, wish i could have shown you how efficently it utilizes movement, vehicle position and counter weapons, sometimes i just like to glaze over what me and sgor00 created, it is mesmerizing.
Yeah, it was tough, for around 2 months I was a hermit, barely been outside, but I've done so much towards this project, fixed ton of bugs, done many optimizations and learned thing or two about AI. I will continue keeping up great work, except now I am not limited by close deadline, feels kinda great.

I know that you're overly upset, but it will be worth the wait in the end, that I can guarantee you, when time comes I won't be saying "lower your expectations". If i truly didn't cared you'd be playing something as broken as RC1 right now, I won't do same mistakes.
As for feature list, yeah, I screwed up there, I've spend whole December and January working day and night on GenEvo, hoping I'll make it to my deadlines, but working 100 hours a week was not enough.
I've been delaying my HL2MMod for the same reasons for over 8 years, but it evolved so much and all that time paid off, it went into mainstream gaming news outlets and garnered a lot of new fans. I'm not doing mods for profit or fame, my ultimate goal is to let people enjoy my work no matter what, the more people enjoy it - the better, you know.

Yep, EVA is fully ported from C&C Generals/ZH. EA made it not very obvious to replace and hard to figure out for some reason. I have to revamp its code though, it was made hastily few years ago.
I also can't wait to apply full translations ( voice and text ) to GenEvo, I have a soft spot for Russian translation in my heart, even though it's kinda terrible. So there probably will be several versions of GenEvo with different languages uploaded at release.
GenEvo has no relation to Shockwave or any other popular C&C Generals mod. My goal is to have all vanilla Zero Hour generals in the game, with few additions to them here and there.

I honestly have no idea how to describe RC1, it was more like RA3 with few C&C Generals units, while RC2 is more like a fully fledged game.
Yeah, for now it's necessary to choose a general, maybe later down the line we'll be able to implement vanilla generals. ZH generals were modified though, some of them got new units and some of them given the ability to build stuff there weren't able to build before.
Basically this, yeah. But I get where the question comes from, in C&C Generals most mods used .big files and files within them weren't encoded, you could easily modify stuff for your own taste. Sadly ( or not ) CnC3/RA3 work in a different way, all data is encoded and compressed in a special day and without certain tools or source code you can't do anything.
Even at this stage this mod needs at least a year of polish and I'm already beyond burned out. You guys should pray that I won't get additional 2 weeks working on this thing, because so far I haven't even had a chance of touching AI, because of how busy I am with working on other GenEvo things.

You have to own all 3 Half-Life 2 games on steam in order to play this mod ( Half-Life 2, Episode 1, Episode 2 ), functionality on non-steam version of this games is not tested and will never be.

I'm still surprised by the amount of people messaging me about this mod, and i do think that this is my best project, but I REALLY wish I could do more with it, FEAR sdk is very limited, unless you purchase engine itself ( which you can't now ), you're pretty limited at what you can do. Community is pretty much dead too, probably for the reason i mentioned above. I had to do a lot of thinking out of the box and replacing unused/minor stuff, for example headshot effect is rat explosion for fur particles, limb gib effect is crow explosion with replaced textures for feathers. Just wanna say thank you to everyone who checked out this mod and everyone who messaged me, I can't be more happy with the outcome.
