The graphics and lighting in this mod makes Crysis look like dog poop. Well, just kidding.
The game should be fine if you download it right. HUD health/armor/ammo numerals are all in Chinese. >.<
A quickie, you guys don't have to answer it if don't want to; How far is the progress of the mod? And might there be a "release date" of some sort? *cough* My apologies, but any progress meter would help ease our minds.
Somebody should scale the hands to better match the size of the weapons (the .357 for example, is puny). And certain parts of the mod (climbing the lift shaft for example) can be a pain if not done properly. Besides all these minor flaws, this game still rocks my world.
Great mod! If you have free time, you SHOULD download this.
Great work with HL Episode 2 alpha guys! Keep on rockin', we're loving it!
This mod is really good! A must download for Half-Life/Horror fans! Great quality models and skins!
I can already feel the epic pwn coming from this mod.
God, MenteR PLEASE. Give it a second thought. Synergy got it's idea from Sven Co-op. Though Synergy is a fairly popular and large mod, Sven Co-op still manages to keep us all hooked though it has "no updates" for years now. Sven Co-op is the best. THE BEST. I have nothing against Synergy mind you.
Best mod ever. Nuff' said. No argument.
Much better. Age fixed.
Oh ****. I AM NOT 38 FFS!
*cough* Where's the promised demo?
Fun mod! Lots of spots to camp, lots of violence boosts the shooting experience!
Ah yes, this is probably the cause. When I have more than half of my inventory filled, it crashes on transitions. I've tried copying my savedata.dat file away, I couldn't load after that. I'm not trying again to risk my progress :P. It appears that after I crash, I shouldn't try loading (it takes to me the menu map with my items). If I go straight to new-game, I start in the AB Inn room with all my stuff intact.
I'm guessing that carrying more than half full of your inventory causes the game to crash during a map change, therefore killing your save. Try avoiding this at all costs.
HolmstN's method was tested and verified by a friend of mine. The mod runs fine under Source SDK Base. No Episode 1 related bugs found so far.
Wonderful mod, I couldn't imagine all these being possible in Source. Congratulations. HOWEVER, there are quite a few minor bugs, which I ignore and forget about them. But there are problems which I find... disturbing.
#1. Only one save slot (perhaps allow custom saves?), this is pretty hard. Especially when you keep losing your saves on transition crashes. I replayed this game over 5 times, due to save losses. I'm not sure what causes this but in the Wilderness, possibly caused by completing the stable master quest (I tried many ways to determine the cause), upon attempt to return back to Riverside, the game crashes... with your save too.
#2. I tried to work around this by copying/backup my savedata.dat file. Turned on my game, pressed F7. Press press press. Nothing. I made so much progress *sniff*. I'll understand if you aren't able to develop a patch, but this is absurd.
Might we be seeing a Non-Episode 1 version someday? These poor lads have waited so long just to be let down. :(
"...is that sufficient to play?" Why don't you try, maybe you might be a lucky person! :)
"...2GB big man thats alotta space" Maybe we should get a new hard drive soon? :P
Do you have Half-Life Episode 1 (and perhaps this need also Source SDK Base)? If you don't have Episode 1, I'm not sure if it would show up.
THIS MOD REQUIRES EPISODE ONE.
According to the ReadMe.txt file, this mod requires Half-Life 2 EPISODE ONE. If it hasn't already been, this should be stated somewhere noticeable. People who don't own Episode 1 would really be mad to find out they downloaded a 703 MB file, while not being able to play.
Extract the contents of the .zip somewhere, then run the installer in the extracted folder. Then, point the installer to your correct Source Mods directory. It should work then. :)
Forgot to mention, I'm on Vista. Running the game under Windows 98 compatibility. Monitor resolution is 1440 x 900, which Windows 98 compatibility doesn't support.
I have a quickie. I got 1.9 GHz Core 2 Duo, 2GB Ram and a Radeon HD 3650. Is it me or does RE:CB hate ATI? I turn on bloom effect and when I try attacking while crouching, my screen zooms and goes all blur. My FPS drops dead to 1. Goes back to normal when I turn it off. Turn it back on and BOOM. Sad.
So... the game maker version is a spin-off of the game, in MS Paint 2D graphics?..
These guys aren't dead nor frozen. Check the site for updates. A new demo should be coming our way soon.
Can't wait for the release of this masterpiece! A few things I hope to see added some day:
1. Realistic gore. Lots of it. It's more fun to shoot if lots of blood spray out.
2. Easier to kill zombies! They look rather hardy in the video.
3. Iron sights if you may.
DANG. Download at 94% and Moddb file link is gone? WHAT THE...
