Hey there, I'm James Pizzurro, probably known to you as 'Grey Echo' or 'madkowa', if at all. I specialized in programming for the Source engine under the now defunct Agent Red Productions, but I did some compiling, mapping and animating work from time to time too. I was also an occasional guest host for Podcast 17.

Apologies, but I remain busy with my other endeavours. I'm afraid my Source engine knowledge isn't what it used to be either. That said, I wouldn't be against crowd-sourcing the money required to get one of ARP's mods greenlit on Steam...

Make sure Source SDK Base 2007 is installed and that you have launched it at least once. You can find it under the Tools section in Steam.

Perhaps one day I will revisit this project, however as a concept, I am pleased with the current release and as such have no immediate plans to continue its development--especially not alone now that Agent Red Productions is defunct. But thank you. =)

Hello HEVcrab. :D

1) This should be a rather easy bug to fix. In fact, I would prefer poison headcrabs don't target spawned props at all rather than just disable them doing poison damage to them.

2) This is a long standing bug that I have tried many, many times to fix, but to no avail. AFAIK, there's no priority system built-in to Source 2007's AI, i.e. they can only target one entity at a time. I suppose some sort of queue could be implemented, but turns out to be a rather complicated problem under the hood and I'm not sure such a simple solution would work. In fact, I may have even tried to do much of what you've suggested and just don't remember it. That said, I'm sure it's not impossible to fix, and I might have overlooked something obvious.

I am indeed busy right now with other things, hence the indefinite closing of Agent Red Productions, however all the source code is available for everyone here: Code.google.com ... I'll send you details via PM as to how to actually compile it.

Thanks, much appreciated, just keep in mind that the mod is not currently in active development anymore. That said, perhaps one day I'll revisit it.

Yes, there are several custom weapons available in Contingency, including Alyx's gun, vortex grenades and deployable turrets. We did want to stay as close to the original HL2 universe as possible though.

You can create your own local server and play with the friendly NPCs that spawn, yes. The game will adjust the difficulty accordingly.

For now, yeah. That's not to say I won't return to it in the future, but I'm rather busy these days doing other things. I exhausted most of my modding ideas for the time being anyway, though it would be nice to restart work on existing ARP projects someday.

All five original official servers are back online in New York, California, Texas, UK and Germany. I don't know how long they're still going to be online before Branzone pulls the plug on them, but I certainly have no intentions of taking them offline again, so enjoy while you can!

Well, in our case, there were two primary factors:

1) More than half our original development team ceased working on the project around v1.5, which made things extremely difficult for those of us who stuck around.
2) We never really had the player base we were hoping for, so in the end, the motivation to continue simply wasn't there.

The project is available to download via Google Code @ Code.google.com

The version posted there is in fact unfinished, and it might take some additional effort to find and install, but it is publicly available.

The studio itself is shutting down, not just development on the mod. Just thought I'd clear that up in case there is any confusion.

There was some real hope that we were going to be able to pull ourselves together and get something more out for everyone, but this no longer appears to be the case. The project is on indefinite hold -- again.

That said, the above was not official info.

Lethal Stigma's bots are incredibly stupid as they were only implemented and ever supposed to be used for testing purposes (i.e. they will not actually play the game). That said, you can still add them and play around with them if you'd like by enabling cheats via your console (sv_cheats 1), then spawning them using the 'add bot' command (bot_add) -- I think.

Depends on the gamemode that's played. Maps made for Survival and Holdout, for example, can be played alone while Infection and Overlord maps can really only be played with others.

We were working on it for quite a while, but development came to quite a halt when Contingency was introduced and hasn't continued since then. I'm now busy with school and don't have the time to manage such a project -- at least not right now.
