Basically it's a puzzle game like portal but in a 2d side-on environment.

Very pleasant graphics and fun gameplay, even if it is has been done before. Very nice of the dev to make it free for 2 days. Recommended.

Quality twin-stick shooter that can use your own music or internet radio.

This is a really great game. The graphics are all glowy and tron-esque and there's little details like reflections of bullets and things in curved, shiny surfaces.
It's not just a standard twin stick shooter either: there's different "characters" (types of player "ship") to pick and upgradable and unlockable weapons. The levels are maze-like and there's more strategical thinking required than a standard shmup.
There's in-game achievements too.
I love it! For me it's worth the price I paid for the Spring indie bundle all on its own.

Towns is to Dwarf Fortress as (for example) Dungeons of Dredmore is to Nethack. This is a good thing. The spirit that makes people want to build things and to write games like this must never be allowed to die. I'm actually quite serious. Games like this are *important*, they are intelligent, they are creatable by small teams of people or even individuals, they appeal to a broad range of players, they provide a lot of hours of amusement and I think they keep people's brains active more than a lot of games.
