An "Internet Native" (already on the net when others "discovered" it and renamed it). I have run Internet Servers since its birth. I have worked for game publishers. But as far as games now, Im listed as "Beta Tester" in some.
Nicely creative. You are covering quite a range.
There are. Click on the FORUM button above us and you can join in.
There is a FEATURES REQUEST thread which the developers do read and respond on
OK now there is one attached to www.CoE-3.com
There isnt one yet. I suppose I could start one and attach it to coE-3.com but the players would have to fill it
In the Transfer Units screen, hit the ? key for a new set of keypress options
There is no way the game can see that as anything but a stolen ID.
Id guess, no
if you have the recruit screen up, then right-click a site it will jump the map to it
If you are already looking at the site and want to make SURE you recruit there, then a long right-click on the site will open the recruit screen already set to that site
The devs had it that way at first. Im afraid that the beta testers might have talked them out of it
During a battle you can hit the ? key to get a new keylist just for battles. I think that is what you want.
More than that. As long as he has one unit in a place, you can enter it without taking it away. You can hide a mage in his citadel. Your mage can train in his cities. Special powers can be used such as Enchanter and Necromancer can use the dead in his captured sites. You can give him equipment you find.
there is a --rename switch which will allow you to use the n key while viewing a commander.
Capital letters should work. Are you maybe using a loaded language file?
The closest thing to undo is the --autosave= switch. I use --autosave=DUH to get a game save named DUH created automatically at each end of turn.
Trade seems to be a common question. You need trade points. And it does not instantly change your income numbers. You have to do abit of math before/after a turn to see it work.
The keypresses and such have been specifically chosen because Johan wanted it to work on NetBook. So, yes
I can see the point but this is one time Im going to miss at least some of Shrapnels features. The publicist, the forums, the Chat button on the official forum since I think creating a chat room is going to be the best way to play this game.
Maybe the crossover moddists and graphic artists from the other games. Im not sure how well that does or doesnt happen here.
This forum takes some getting used to. But there are AARs for CoE3 on the old CoE2 site.
And there are some great videos being posted on the QuarterToThree.com website
That wasnt Illwinter. That was Shrapnel the previous publisher who controlled Dom3 prices.
Illwinter priced Dom1 great. And dropped the price of CoE2 to free.
That wasnt Illwinter that never dropped prices. That was Shrapnel, their previous publisher. Illwinter dropped the price of CoE2 to free. :)
Well said. Ive paid much more for games that left my hard drive in less than a month but Illwinter games last for years on my machines.
Dont these people have hobbies? Seriously, would these arguments work for you and your hobby? "Hey this is good. But if you would just hire someone to paint it nice, and hire someone to market it better, and drop your prices.. then you would sell a lot for and make lots of money." Ive heard that about my hobbies and basically reacted "I dont mind making a bit but I dont plan to turn it into a job."
That is the target number. But the post on progress log only means that Johan has compiled version 3.00 to release to the beta testers. You dont want us to rush it do you? And then it has to go to Desura
No, there is not a demo before the PRE-order. A demo isnt that much of a consideration for pre-orders since those tend to be the already convinced crowd. Plus Illwinter tends to finish the game and then create a demo. That works better. That way the demo actually can tell you how it would run on your machine.
As to the pricing comments, well everything has its pros and cons. I dont think I ever saw anyone who bought Dom3 that felt it wasnt worth the price. So far people who have CoE3 feel the same. Also the fact that the Dom3 population didnt have any "I bought it because it was cheap" people did not seem to be a loss.
New Tip: If you upgrade the Necromancer you can lose your insanity. IIRC there are two options. Lich which can raise dead safely, or Vampire who can "eat" entire villages to get boosts
Excellent video. And you are an excellent player. Even though you are obviously learning the game as you recorded this, you got very little wrong. Im going to have to add you to my "do not MP" list :)
Not mine. Done by someone at a developer forum
In usual Illwinter style, you can tell its a Linux game because it has pages of command line switches
Good point. I will have Johan bring it up to them. Also it should have the Mac symbol that Desura has JUST NOW opened up.
That seems to be the size. Even with the music and manuals added at the latest version.
The game is very friendly to NetBooks, and flash drives, and old computers with limited memory and speed
And yes it plays the same on Linux, Windows, and Mac
I do know that Steam is being considered along with others. But I wouldnt have a guess as to whether it will end up there.
There is now an AAR for Conquest of Elysium 3 (some forums call it an LP). A turn-by-turn walkthru in tale form as the game is being played.
We might get it on Android the same way it works on NetBooks, or various screen resolutions, or different sound supports.
Someone subtly send a thankyou gift to Johan of an Android phone :)
iPhone support would worry me. We have people getting in trouble for playing Dom3 at work. If Dom3 or CoE3 were playable on the phone then our entire economy would collapse
Actually it is for Linux, and Windows, and Mac (and has been made compatible to Netbook)
