Description

The first animation done for the Titan, this one was made to test the functionality of the skeleton. Usually, I don´t make a complete test animation, just play a bit with the joints and see if it´s all linked correctly. The Titan however was the first model/skeleton I tried IK solvers with (on the legs) and relied heavily on Look-at-Constraints to automate animating (the feet have only two animated bones each) - making an independent, looping animation to to stare at was a good way to find out how -not- to animate this one. ;)

Though I like the base concept of this animation, there´s some things about it that didn´t turn out that well. For one, the walking cycle only looks good at slow speeds - it really looks like a chicken when played faster. And you can also see that I wasn´t quite skilled with using the IK, if you look closely the upper leg makes a very distinctive "jump" while the foot moves forward. The "pelvis" also doesn´t move/tilt enough and so on and on and on... :P

Oh yeah, the other reason for doing this video was to show how awesome the ground texture looks. ;)
