I was thinking about character using its legs. They are essential in climbing. However, I find its movements really funny this way. I am aiming for more crazy/dynamic style.

Hi. This is just concept of climbing mechanics. There will be no timer in final build. Also no crystals and stuff like that...
And yep. There will be a possibillity to lose lower parts of your body :)

Hi! There is definitely going to be some sort of sandbox mode where you will be able to build vehicles, create structures from various parts and blow them away ...etc. but it is not going to be a "real" level editor.
However I might add it in the future if there are enough people who will support the game ;)

When I say: "This game is inspired by portal" a lot of people think that everything what I am trying to do with this game is to copy it. But the only thing that I am trying to do is to get some of the ideas that worked in Portal and transform them in my own way.
People will always compare games to other famous titles. This game was even compared to antichamber and I was told that it is a total Antichamber rip-off because I posted a screen with a green cube in it :D . I do not get it but in these situations people dont see other 90 % of the totally original game mechanics. They only see that one "cube". This game is still in the middle of its development so I understand that it is hard for other people to imagine what I am actually trying to do with it. But I can assure you that there will be no portals, no robotic potatoes and cubes with hearts painted on them ;)

It would be pretty difficult to do something like that without the negative impact on game performance. Whole screen would have to be recorded or all the data about the movement of the objects would have to be stored and sometimes there are a lot of objects so I am not sure if the game could handle it. There will be possibly no checkpoints as the levels are going to be pretty small and simple. They would be pointless. But that doesnt mean that it is a bad idea ;) I will think about it and maybe I will figure something out.

There is going to be something like a demo in maybe..2 months? So I will be happy if you will play it and send your suggestions/opinions my way :)

Game is still in its early stages. I still work on game mechanics and there are no playable levels so far. However I plan to release something like a free beta version/demo of this game so people can take a look at it and play it. I am not sure when it will be available. Possibly something about 2 months from now.

I am using Unity Pro. I bought the license last year when I was working on our older project "Cubic Climber".
All the shaders are from basic unity assets. Bumped Specular, Self-Illumination etc. The final visual is combination of shaders and Camera Image effects.
As a modelling tool I use Blender but sometimes I just create objects directly in Unity and combine the meshes using "Combine Children" script
that also comes in basic Unity assets.

I am not totally sure what you mean by your first question. When I create these various things I usually just get and idea, I think about how it could be useful in different puzzles and then (If it is good) I just make it.

Wiring is not generated. It is manually placed. It's not the most efficient way but it is good when I need to do something unusual that could be hardly scripted.

Nope. I have some ideas though.
Some levels are going to be pretty simple and they could be made in 15-20 minutes but I also want to create more interesting and complex levels and they could take even 2 hours to create.
It is going to be pretty easy. Just placing the objects and connecting some of them from time to time. The hardest part about this is to make each level interesting and fun and that is the most time consuming part.

I know about the "HUD problem" but I am considering whether to do something about it as it is still pretty visible when you play on full-screen and I kinda like the idea that when you are under water ..you have to be fast and blurred HUD is not really going to help you :D
