Is that the same music used in the Substance mod? It sounds like it or something similar. Its ok... but a little too distracting for my taste. I hope that doesn't play during the entire game...

Yuck, that’s just creepy. I don't like the artist's style. All the proportions way too out of whack. She looks like someone squeezed her until all her organs popped out. Nasty!

She doesn't look remotely like any human I've ever seen... fictional or non. Get a new artist. He or she doesn't know what they're doing.

I'm all for creativity, as long as good taste is applied. (which isn't this)

I went to the download link that is listed on BattleGroup42's homepage, but when I try and download the files, that web page spits several paragraphs of german at me that I have no hope of understanding.

How about making this file available to Americans?

LOL @ Val nude Scene

Well, how hard is it to find someone to play it with? I asked everyone I know in Steam that I play Synergy with and they all say they don't own Far Cry.

I remember how difficult it was finding anyone to play System Shock 2 with me in multiplayer co-op, not to mention anyone who didn't lie about what supplies they had they could share, didn't rush as fast as they could through every level, didn't cheat constantly, and actually thought about the things they did in the game instead of just shooting everything that moved...

Sorry, lol. Just a lot of bad memories with lan games.

There's a lot of co-op fans out there these days. I thought you guys would definitely have someone offering a server. :(

All I want to know, is if there are going to be servers for it.

This mod doesn't seem very popular and it has me worried, cause I really like it. If it stays unpopular, that means no servers. No servers means no mod. And if that’s the case, I’m not going to bother with it sorry to say. :( I was hoping there'd be a larger hype than this over this mod....

You guys need someone who can make a good video, so you can advertise it and create a hype. That's what all the top mods are doing. I don't mean having music in the background while someone plays the game. You have to include moments where players are being overrun by hordes of bad guys, so it looks challenging! (As it should be) And you need to show off the features of the game in a way that doesn’t seem dull. You want people interested in the video. No matter what it looks like, it’ll look great to you because you made the mod and your excited about it, but you want it to appeal to someone who has a long list of mods to choose from. You have to sell it! :)

Also a personal request. Don't forget to give the players turrets they can move around on some of the maps! Those are fun!

As soon as I saw this, I knew it was dead or about to be, and smirked when the homepage didn't work. You can't make a mod for a game, based on another gamed owned by another publisher. What a stupid thing to do.

I am a HUGE fan of System Shock 2, Deus EX, and Thief, but have you ever heard of the phrase "copy write infringement"? What you attempted here is AGAINST THE LAW, so I'm not surprised this mod has been dead for 2 months and their website has vanished.

Someone tried the same thing in the first Half-Life about 5 years ago. They made a mod based on Activision's Battlezone, and just when they had it completed, suddenly everything having to do with that mod disappeared. Not only did they steal the logo and the name, but every ship was stolen from the original game too.

So many modders make this stupid mistake too! It seems like they never learn!

DON'T TRY TO REMAKE A GAME, USING A GAME OWNED BY A DIFFERENT PUBLISHER!

INSTEAD, learn from that game, and take what you learned and make your own game. Its ok if it somewhat resembles it, but DON'T STEAL its original work, logo, or name! Don't even mention its name! And if it comes up in a forum or in a public area, say that it may share some of the same ideas and concepts, but its not a remake or rip off of any other game.

We live in a world now where copy write infringement is taken much more seriously, especially by big game companies like Electronic Arts (EA) and Activision.

So, DON'T DO IT! You WILL get caught.

The game play is good, but the story makes absolutely no sense what so ever. The game play is fun, and challenging in a few areas, but the story is what's important to me.

The only reason WHY I played all the way through was because I was led to believe that somehow I was going to do something that impacted past or future events. But instead it abruptly ends... So yeah, I was ****** off.

All you do is run around from one level to another, killing random bad guys. That’s it.

You don't have any objectives or goals... or do anything that could significantly impact past or future events, which is what this mod SHOULD have included but didn't. He even makes Alex evil and work with the combine... with no explanation why.

In my opinion the game play scores a 7, and the story scores a 1. So I’m giving this a 4.

LOL! Now people are complaining about even more problems since the new patch came out yesterday!

I saw several people complaining that their customized keyboard commands reset to default every time they start the game up. Also, when I double click on each individual keyboard command to change it, that has always been the same thing as pressing the edit button. But now with this patch, when I do that it sets that key to mouse 1.... It didn't do that before. How annoying....

Also I never even saw the Mac 10 in any of the rounds I played because it disappeared so fast. How many did you put on the map? 1 or 2? The people who got it said it looks horrible anyway.

Did you guys even fix anything? Servers are still crashing... and it crashes on my end from time to time as well.

And this is one of several reasons why I left the SC community a long time ago, because of all the jackass's in it. This community grew out of control and ruined the mod for most people I knew, and every server was plagued by ********.

Both of you grow up. No one cares... ****. And Im guessing by the near 30 pages of comments, there's lots of spam from more than just you two idiots.

Anyway, does the SC community still shoot people on sight for posting good or even decent ideas for SC, and stereo type every idea as something from another game? (Especially poplar games like CS and Halo?) That's another reason why I left that community.

Whats the point of working on SC2 if your own community ***** all over your work and drives a lot of good players away? I wouldn't blame them for throwing in the towel. I probably would have.

I think one of valves many mod killing patches, has ruined yet ANOTHER great mod.

Flying-Q's comment below, mentions that there is a screenshot where the player is positioned on the other side of the bars that trap you with the queen, and there's a hole in it.

I’m guessing there's some kind of scripted event that’s supposed to take place where the queen rips open the bars, and the creator of the mod made the queen invincible until that event took place so you couldn't kill it and trap your self.

If this is true, then the scripted event was probably broken by a valve patch, in which case we need someone to fix it.

I’m going to try and contact the mod author about this...

Three of the shotguns are located in the sewer tunnel; two down near the dead end and one at the bottom of the stairs. Zombie groups can be spawned in front of the shotguns before the dead end, and more can be placed right next to the one at the bottom of the stairs. That’s ********. There should be a time limit for spawning zombies in the sewer, or the shotguns should be moved closer to base. (What are they doing in the sewer anyway??) When I actually was able to get the shotgun, nearly as soon as I got back to the rear (side) entrance to the garage (our base), those fast running zombies started attacking me in large groups....

I don't think humans are given enough time to prepare for zombie attacks, and are cut off from supplies too soon. It just ****** everyone who dies early, since they have to watch the one or two people who didn't die at the beginning of the round, for the next 10 minutes. Its stupid for that many people to be unfairly killed that early, then have to sit there and wait to play again for so long.

Also, if I ever try to load any saved game, ever, even if I just opened the game application, it instantly shuts down. No error message or anything, it just shuts down. I can't leave the game on every day till I finish it. And those ball are everywhere, making the game unplayable. What the hell is wrong with this mod!? I was looking forward so much to finding out what happens in the story (No, don't tell me, I still might find a way to play this mod.)

General_Hoohah Apr 24 2007, 5:53pm says:

This game depends too heavily on players to behave responsibly and treat each other with respect, and does not reward teamwork or discipline disruptive players. That is always a recipe for disaster in any game! There are three major ways this game is played:

1. Server you are on is filled with little kids who spam insults and racist comments while running around shooting anything that blows up or falls apart, destroy or blow up barricades, try kill other players with barrels, kill each other for weapons, and run around aimlessly and die. They have no clue what they're supposed to do because they don't stop screwing around long enough to see the list of objects they need to find and the two pictures that show where to place the objects, of which are all in plain sight.

2. The host or admin is an ***, and banns people left and right for absolutely nothing... or because they keep loosing and ban people who play well, even on servers that by the title, appear to be the official mod server(s).

3. All the players act responsible and mature, and work together towards goals. They communicate and developed strategies, learn from each other, and teach new players how to play. They gather explosive barrels for later use, create barricades, gather supplies, and complete the map objectives.

Unfortunately, most of the time.... the first and second are usually the case.

I suggest that if someone shoots a barrel, and it kills a teammate, that the victim be given a choice to ban them. The gravity gun is terrible, I can't even get the damn thing to work, and its useless on many things that should be light enough for it to pick up. Also the zombie master shouldn't be able to just destroy a barricade with god like power. It should be up to his zombie minions. An uninterruptible barricade destroying option is cheap, and unfair for the humans. There should be scarce medical packs, that only heal a small amount. The Winchester ammo, is almost nonexistent, so there should be more. There aren't enough weapons, no explosives that players can wield (molotov cocktails, pipe bombs, dynamite, etc), and melee weapons (though plentiful) are almost useless against zombies. The hulks attack too fast, they should attack slower than that. There are also many bugs. Servers constantly crash, and even though I set my preferences to survivor, I still get chosen as the zombie master all the time. I get stuck inside things I try to move constantly, or pushed INSIDE of a solid wall, and sometimes objects I’m trying to carry get stuck in mid air. The zombie path finding is horrendous.

Aside from those problems, when responsible players are in a server, the game can be very fun… until you get killed by one of the many bugs, then have to sit out of the round for 10 or 20 minutes while everyone else plays. This mod has a lot of very good ideas, but has a large number of problems that need to be fixed

But I went to there site and I don't see any mention of this mod anywhere there, in fact half of the mods they host are all in german. Is anyone hosting a 3rd party realm for this mod at all? And what the heck is M2 Special Edition 1.02?

No way I'm playing a game like this on the open Bnet realm, that place sucks because of the cheating. And singleplayer is too boring. I need to play on a realm with other people. :(
