Also, key characters that are vital for you to complete missions die all the time. The scientist in the full protective suit you have to rescue has died on me many many times, and the guy who's in charge of the fighting arena have both died on me several times. The first guy died from about 15 animals and a few monsters attacking him at once, and the second from a mercenary raid. The scientist died TONS of times. I had to replay that level more than 20 times till I could successfully save him. I had to immediately run to him as soon as the level started and kill the animals attacking him before he died. Also Bes... or something like that, in the junk yard dies constantly. I always find him dead, a few times before I was able to talk to him for the first time and get my mission from him. (Can't you just make him invulnerable to AI attacks?)

I hope these problems are fixed in 2.5. :) I rated this mod a 7 out of 10 because of these. If it weren't for those major problems, I'd give it a perfect score! But I really do appreciate the work you're doing and continue to do Wolf, and who ever else is working on this mod. I hope you fix these issues.... and I'm definitely looking forward to 2.5!

HOWEVER

Invisible anomalies that can kill you instantly at the beginning of the game are just stupid, maybe they can become more and more invisible as you venture deeper into the zone so the difficulty adjusts with experience and better armor and detectors. THAT would make sense and be a whole lot more balanced. But right away at the beginning of the game is just nonsense.

And the non glowing artifacts just **** me off. They blend in with the ground really well, making most of them impossible to find... even if you look really hard. This does bother me a great deal actually, and I hope they fix it in 2.5, or at least give you the option of turning that off, instead of forcing you to play the way someone else likes to play. Besides, finding glowing artifacts at night is just a whole bunch of fun! They took that away in this mod and it was one of my favorite activities in the game. :( Why not just make night a whole lot more dangerous to balance it out? (more mutants)

Something I forgot to mention is, a lot of fans of the original game were let down by missing content. You should add that missing content. I think a lot more people would show interest if you were willing to do that, and more people would gain interest, giving you a better chance to find new members for your dev team. Dev members who have experience with mods for STALKER would really come in handy and give you some extra insight into how to accomplish an atmosphere closer to the original game.

Stalker is a much more serious game with a gloomy post-apocalyptic atmosphere. You're not pulling it off with those goofy sound effects. Plenty of places online where you can get sound effects for free that will suit your needs.

Also, you should talk to the STALKER community. You might find some willing and talented people for your dev team. But its fair to warn you that Wolf's Super Mod Pack for the original game, is going to give you a run for your money. That is a seriously sick mod and I can't wait till the new version comes out right before Christmas!!! I've been waiting all year!! SO MANY GUNS IN THAT MOD!! And the factions constantly fight and skirmish all over the place, so things never get dull. You should do that with this mod.

Another thing you should consider is inventory. There's a lot of players who HATE making tons of trips back and forth from stashes way far out and the bar, so they can make money. A simple solution for this is a backpack or something you can take with you and hide somewhere when your out in the wild areas. A great way to balance this would be that if you leave it where bandits, military stalkers, and other stalkers can find it, they'll loot it. So you can't just leave it anywhere you want, you have to be careful. Also, while moving it, you cannot run and cannot jump very high, and tire more quickly. But in the long run will save you a great deal of time.

A few suggestions I have are an old suitcase, beat up hikers backpack, or some old luggage with wheels. Believe me it, would make the game a lot better... and fewer people would ask about ways to cheat and how to change the amount of weight you can carry.

Well bless them... I hope it works out well. But to be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if Ubisoft attacks them when they eventually release it, claiming copyright or something. I've heard of publishers doing that... I think Activision was the last one I heard of who did that? They should probably keep back ups of it in several offline places to safeguard it from any attacks by Ubisoft, just to be safe. :)

Also, it has nothing at all to do with Far Cry AT ALL. So yes, they were trying to cash in on a name and had no intention of making Far Cry 2. It would be better as a standalone game.

Graphics, game play, AI, environments all great, vehicles are fun, story isn't bad. Didn't feel there were enough rifles, shotguns, and pistols. No weapon accessories! The dart rifle breaks CONSTANTLY!! Go for a swim with it and it'll blow up in your face, but still the best weapon for quiet ranged take downs.

Also you are FORCED to carry certain weapons in certain slots... so there are hundreds of weapon combinations you CANNOT use. So if you want to carry a great sniper rifle with a particular gun as backup that you really want to take with you, sorry but most likely it won't let you. So they basically took a big dump on sniper class players. Far cry 1 had only 4 slots, but at least you could carry any weapon you wanted in ANY slot you wanted!

Ubisoft made no effort to release an SDK for this game, so basically they gave the modding community a big middle finger. The community has a petition going, trying to get Ubisoft to release an SDK, but I don't think they'll ever release it. To be honest, Ubisoft is run by a bunch of money grubbing douches, which is why the Cryteam left them in the first place. They couldn't give any less of a crap about us or the modding community.

The only reason I bought it, was because steam had it for 50% off. I wouldn't buy this crap game any other way, but to be honest I enjoyed it. ONCE. I played it once, it kept me busy for a good amount of time, and I see no reason to play it again. Because no choices you make have any impact on the outcome, there's no replay value at all. Only buy this game if you can get it cheap or free.

Really I do love this game... great graphics, lots of ships and weapons to play with, kind of a lame story but still great game. Lot of bugs though, which have mostly been fixed by the community patch. Bunch of downloads available - single/multiplayer mods and maps, skins, textures, etc.

But one thing they were never able to fully fix are the damn memory leaks. If your system crashes after a while of playing that game, you'll most likely need a program that constantly frees up memory. I've had a lot of luck with MaxMem, and with it I've had the game run for 18 hours without crashing. I turned the game off after that. I think 18 hours is plenty long enough. :)

But after playing it for years it feels totally stale. They keep adding stuff with the community patch, but everything they add feels superficial without really adding to the game. The community is a joke, mostly being made up of back stabbing immature bickering children, who wouldn't know a good idea if you slapped them in the face with it. They boo every great idea and cheer every superficial shallow idea.

Everyone I try to play with, save for a few vets who are never on anymore, HAS NO IDEA HOW TO PLAY and don't have the patience for a strategy game. So they mouth off, have no respect for rules or the maker of the game, die constantly, and play strategy games like they're in a deathwatch.... totally failing to understand that tanks are expensive and take time to build so they loose their tank in the first two minutes.

So no... lol I don't play this game anymore.

BUT!!! We need more games like this... but with BETTER COMMUNITIES!!!

I used to play BZ1 and I thought that game was actually better than BZ2. I loved BZ1!! I even made maps for it... among them, one called Sand Castle. It still has a problem with the ion canon. It refers to the wrong file name, so if you use it, the game with crash... sorry. Never got around to fixing it....

Is there anything special about this mod that you haven't mentioned? Graphics are only half of the gaming experience. Is there something to immerse the player into the game? Is there something that will make me want to play? Mercs and bandits should infest that area like the plague! You guys should have added more of them! I've noticed that over time, that level starts to wear out and they spawn less and less and then just stop spawning completely, when playing Oblivion and when the game is unmodded. I've always wished that someone would fix that problem, and make it more of a challenge with more enemies and stronger enemies that pose more of a threat. That concrete building with the different levels should be a merc outpost with snipers, an RPG and sniper merc, and some mercs with assault rifles and auto shotties, that hunt you if you get too close to the building. All those bad guys in the wild territory is what made that area so great! Risks and challenges with great rewards! Also, have the barman send you there for more missions! Eliminating camps in particular. Wait... wasn't that originally in the game? I forget...

Please! Make sure the player has good places to hunt for goods to sell! And not towards the end of the game! Please restore Wild Territory! No, improve it! Make it harder!

I think it would probably be a good idea to give Bes, Fox, and other unique characters better health, guns, and resistances... they dies SO EASILY!! Right after meeting them, the next time I see any of these characters, they're always dead. Usually killed by something weak like a dog or flesh... or a bandit with a weak little pistol. That's just wrong... they should be a lot stronger than that. I'd do it my self but I don't know which file to edit... looked for it, couldn't find it.

I also found a weapon... and I think you guys made a mistake. Has two huge ammo drums on either side of it, and it only has 30 rounds? 30 rounds is just a clip.... I'll probably edit it if I think the weapon is any good.

I don't think you're understanding my problem... and it has NOTHING to do with my playing ability.

This one anomaly I mentioned is completely invisible, there are no clues or warnings to its presence, no sounds... so even if I still used those bolts, I wouldn't even know to use them if one was near by. You guys changed something with your mod that made them this way. Can you please tell me what you did and how to undo it? It's probably a simple to edit file...

I know how to edit the files with those values... but I can't figure out what value it is. I don't see anything obvious and the resistances to specific damages don't seem to do anything. Where is the health value for the vehicles, and what is it called? I can't use the vehicles until I fix this problem. :(

Also, maybe remove some of the boundaries and fences and let people explore a little more and wander out into the wilderness? Maybe give people the option of risking greater danger (increased number of baddies, the farther you explore) for the opportunity of finding goodies (supplies, artifacts, weapons, etc). Being completely random is fine. :D

I ask this because the game ends too soon. I want more stuff to keep me busy. More side missions, more areas to explore, more wilderness, etc. Why is every mod just more guns, more graphics, more sounds... give me more to do!! PLEASE!?!
