I have a, small, obsession with everything Tolkien.
Thanks for the answer :), I agree with Answeration, that a fitting ability for Aragorn would be a leadership bonus, perhaps similar to Theoden's, which has an increased effect as he levels up.
Hey Edain Team, I wanted to leave a comment first to say how much I enjoy playing this mod and how much of an improvement the mod is on BFME (which I always thought was a pretty fun game anyway) and secondly to ask some questions. Again, I've probably already said this but it's worth saying again, this mod really brings Middle-Earth to life for me, and without it I would have a lot more free time :P
First question is concerning the Urúk captains upgrade for Isengard: does the fear resistance granted by units being on level two make the fear resistance of this upgrade redundant? I didn't see any other bonus than being on level five, which is pretty cool but I don't know if that has any other effects? Anyway I thought this was a really cool upgrade and would be sad to see it replaced by an effect that all units have with banner carriers.
My second question is concerning Aragorn. I think someone else has mentioned this, but I would like to voice by thoughts on the matter :P The ability- I can't quite remember what it does (I prefer using Boromir cause he's a tank) favours the use of heroic statues and, not being a player who uses heroic statues often, would like to make the suggestion that you make it more inclusive- to grant a bonus to other structures. My logic behind this is that in the new build system you have a specific number of plots to build on and so you can't, for example, employ the blacksmith spam strategy as well as building heroic statues. Perhaps I am misusing Gondor, in that I spam economy buildings to upgrade troops ASAP, rather than waiting it out and fighting for strategic location on which heroic statues could be built effectively. Anywayy I'm just wondering if you could add a bonus to other structures for that ability, like a small production increase or a cost reduction for units. Perhaps that's too overpowered for Aragorn, but he was the King of Gondor, and I believe Gondor prospered under him.
I apologise for the atrocious length of this post and would like to congratulate you on such a fantastic project that has immersed me for so long!
Hey Irene, I've been watching this mod for a while and I don't think I've ever left a comment to say how great it looks, even at this stage! There is so much potential for a great mod, and from the screenshots and ideas you've shared so far it seems like you are exceptionally talented in this field. I wish you the best of luck with your exams and, being in the middle of my own, can empathize with the workload! I'm really looking forward to your development of such a great concept, and have the confidence that you can produce something worthy of Tolkien's works!
The faithful is what they were referred to in the books was is not? I think that would be a fitting name, although Dunedain is equally fitting.
This mod looks wonderful! I'm really glad that you've not let it die and I hope you keep working on it- there is so much potential for the mod. Also, your uploaded content looks great too; all the buildings seem very appropriate for the factions and your ideas for further development seem really great too! I wish you the best of luck for the future and I can guarantee that I'll stick around until you release what can only be a spectacle of modding!
This seems like a really great idea with an immense potential for development, as well as a great asset to English speaking fans of the mod!I look forward to being a part of the group!
Though I've not played the mod in a while I wanted to say that this is undoubtedly the best mod for BFME and, perhaps, the best mod I've played for any game. You've managed to create something truly wonderful! I love how your mod accurately reflects Tolkein's lore and combines it with some stunning visual work (or as stunning as a 7 year old game can look :P) based on the movies. As a super LOTR nerd this mod was definitely the best discovery I've made and I wish you the best of luck with 4.0 and future projects, which I'm sure will be amazing because, based on your work so far, you are all really talented modders! Thanks for providing me with endless hours of fun in rediscovering the game that I loved and now love even more! May the stars guide you :)
This looks amazing-I can't wait for the first release! Long live the Westernesse!
You have to level Sauron up- I'm pretty sure he levels up as one with the Mouth of Sauron and the Nazgul and every time he gains 3 levels you can chose on of the specialised buildings to unlock
Go on to the modding union in Google Chrome and it translates the site into English (badly). The new news is already on the site although the translation is so bad I could barely understand it
I tried it with The Varden and The Dwarves and I assume it is Minas Tirith as the inn there is faulty with other mods as well
The new beta is pretty awesome, although when I played in Minas Tirith I couldn't get the new inn system to work- I may be using the wrong version but i bought both upgrades and neither produced new units.
Sorry that was me
Thank you very much, I will try this now. What do you mean by automatic mode?
This looks amazing but I cant't get it to work :(
I have tried all the solutions below and it still doesn't work. Help please Someone-Elda
You've just ruined my mental image of the edain team sitting round a big wooden table discussing the mod :( But as long you're still working on it I'm happy!
If I am correct the voices of at least one of them is Dumbledore as well (in German of course), I only recognized the voice because it played the Harry Potter theme song when I clicked on him!
What is going to happen to the dwarven Schurf-Werksatt in the dwarven fortress?
Will you extend it's range or allow it to be biult at settlements?
BTW the new idea is fantastich!
Legolas shot down a fell beasts in the books:p
You could build all the dwarven barrack troops with King Dain's(erebeor) level 10 power, last time I checked.
I thought they were still half-trolls unfortunately- "I have never been so wrong in my life"
I'd be happy to help, as a fellow fan of Paolini, although I do not have any skills whatsoever when it comes to modding, though I am sure I could come up with some ideas.
The bird is exceptionally useful! :p Carc || is possibly the most useful hero in the game, he can't attack but you can see anywhere on the map.
I completely agree, they are almost never on the battlefield!
Fundament Untergraben disables the functions of the buildings targeted are the enemies killed while using the weapon upgrade for the eisenberge guardians?
What is mission: todeskampf? It's great fun but I can't finish it.
So many Questions!
What does the dwarven 11 "fundament" power do?
What does hwaldar's level 5 power do?
Why can't I see the ring being carried anymore?
Are some of Angmar's heroes made up?
Will the voices of the units be translated in the English version?
And will arnor be added to Lake Evendim?
I don't think so. At least no way that I've found but I have not played the new version as my disc snapped and the new one hasn't arrived yet :(
