GamerKnight is a professional programmer, who started programming when he was just thirteen years old. He was employed as a full time programmer at the age of seventeen. At the age of twenty one, he made the risky move of working for himself as a freelance developer, and has never been happier. He has worked as a developer in non-game related fields for many years, and is looking to break into the game dev market through small indie based games. GamerKnight has experience with multiple platforms and has developed software in a range of languages from .Net based applications on Windows, Objective C on the Mac, and C++ on Linux. I am always looking to meet new people who are serious about games development. Feel free to send me a PM with your thoughts or questions I will do my best to help out.

Rather than having fixed classes that limited a players tactical innovation right from the start of the game. we let the war supplies do the talking.

At any time in the game a player can go inside a War Supply Depot and choose what supplies to equip.

That is a good question.

I am not sure. If ever single supply was visible the room would have to be rather large, but it would make managing supplies much easier.

What about if items are stacked stacked inside of a supply crates:

Interactive world content makes the game feel more alive, rather than just a static picture to walk though.

Having an audio update with the concept was a nice touch.

It is kind of hard to hear what is being said from the guy who spoke first. I would suggest picking up a new headset or adjusting your setting for the next recording. It really does spoil an other wise great update.

Also I like the concept art, it feel like he has character and a story to tell.

Are there different kinds? What are the risks of collecting different kinds of crystals? I am trying to get a feel for the games core mechanics and the risk reward system for collecting crystals.

I often feel as though when I am playing an MMO that the actions I preform have no meaning. Fighting my way through a dungeon, or even completing a story line quest just gets reset ten minutes later. It is very disconcerting.

Dungeons and Dragons Online had an interesting concept. After completing a series a story lines quests and you freed the dragon, the weather in the whole area would change from dim and snowy to a bright summers day.

The only issue was people who had not gotten as far in the story line quests as you would not see the bright summers day, and also could not join your party. Its not a great idea but a step in the right direction.

You make some solid points about flaws in modern MMOs, I look forward to reading your suggestions on fixing these issues.

The great news just keeps coming and coming today. Towns is a great game and well worth the money.

Taking a small collection of villagers and organising them in to what will become a living world, each with their own personality is so much fun. Seeming them grow from simple farmers to the strongest army my fictional world has ever seen is just an amazing site to see. This is what The Sims should have been.

Also this is one of the few games I can play and code at the same time. I set everything up just he way I need it, set it to full speed and come back a few hours later to see what my followers have created.

This is a recommended buy from me, also extra points for Linux support.

From what I have seen so far the Mod kit looks great. Mods really add replay value to a game, but also for me at lest allows me to get sucked deeper in to the game universe.

Still not 100% sure on a web based mod system. But it would allow for making and sharing content with the community more convenient. Either way this game has great potential.

I am voting indie all the way here. Dont get me wrong there are some great AAA titles these days and i like playing them.

But it just seems as though the market is filled with the same core game mechanics. Developers swap out the models and textures and call it a new game.

Indie on the other hand, there is always something new around the corner, a risky mechanic that just makes the game so enjoyable. I play a lot of game, i want to be surprised and challenged in new ways.

What do you guys think? What do you want to see in games?

Some interesting ideas in there Ben.

Its funny you should mention Ammo rack explosions, as we do have something in the works. If you can penetrate the thick armour (50cal?) and get the bullet to bounce around inside the tank you could kill the whole crew in one huge inferno blast. A grenade down one of the hatches would also work just as well.

Thank you for the feedback.

A very good question. We do not want to release to much just yet and spoil the anticipation.

However the plan is to release these core mechanics ("what to expect ingame") in small chucks once a week.

GamerKnight Jan 26 2013, 5:00pm says:

We are taking a big risk with our interpretation of what we think an FPS should be about. But if this works we are fundamentally reinventing the FPS genre.

Its no longer about solo offensive kill-streaks. Its about controlling regions and supply lines. Getting 10,000 kills will not win you the game. If you fail to work as a team, fail to capture regions of the map, or let your supply lines fall into enemy hands, you will run out of ammo, food, medical supplies (“War Supplies”) quick enough and get overrun by enemy forces.
