Although this mod was very short and I found 2 glitches while playing through it, I still really like it. The idea of the mod itself is neat, and the mapping is very well done (Everything is very detailed and it didn't feel very linear to me at all.).
One other thing that no one seemed to mention was the ambient music. 2spooky4me.
Anyway, this is definitely worth checking out if you don't mind that it's short.

Now that I'm FINALLY able to play Black Mesa, I have to say that it is just straight up amazing, there's simply no denying it's awesome-ness.
THE GOOD / FRIGGIN' AMAZING
- 9000/9001 of everything is super professional, such as the map design, animations, etc.
- A lot of content
- Epic music
- Awesome gameplay, it feels just like HL1 when you're playing, which is of course a good thing
- Hard mode is actually hard
- Introduces Half-Life to teh newbies
- A lot of bad voice acting, especially for the scientists
- Some textures were pretty meh looking
- Not really any new weapons or anything. It is a small complaint, really. I'm just Saiyan' that it'd be nice to have some new weapons to kick *** with.
- 99% of all objects that you can pick up, you can throw as if they have no weight or something
- Many of the secret areas are not really hidden at all, just really obvious
- Iron-sights kind of suck
Overall, Black Mesa is pretty much just a better version of HL1, and is one of the best HL2 mods ever. So if you don't get this mod then you MUST BE OUTTA' YO DAYUM MIND!

This has potential, but it just isn't very enjoyable to play. The idea of having a sword and whatnot is pretty awesome, but the sword kind of sucks ***. It barely has any range and does little to no damage, also I think being able to block attacks would have been nice. You see, without the sword working well, the rest of everything just seems like re-skinned Half-Life weapons (Which they are). I feel that this could have been really awesome if a bunch of small problems were fixed, but they weren't and even though they weren't, the level design is pretty dull and it's really short. But overall it's pretty interesting and I had fun playing it.

This is a very 'meh' mod, maybe worth your time - Probably not though.

There is an inventory system where you can hold up to 6 items at once, and this makes it so that at certain points you'll have to sacrifice one item for another in order to go on to the next area. Not to spoil anything but it gets especially challenging when at one point in the game you lose your bag and can only hold 3 items, you have to hold things like keys, light sources, and weapons all at once and only having 3 slots got pretty irritating, I think.
Cry of Fear has an amazing soundtrack and really impressive graphics, things like the great lighting effects and the creepy ambient noise all work together to make you scream like a little girl. Other than that, the mod has ***-loads of content along with multiplayer, unlockables, different endings and other things that make replaying the mod worthwhile. Overall, Cry of Fear is the best mod I've ever played and I would definantly reccomend trying it out.

I'm glad the weapons do more damage and you have to eat, that's all I really felt was necessary but the other changes were nice.
