For cinematic mostly.
All the animations were done very quickly because I needed them. And since I'm breaking some animations while I'm updating the code, I don't want to waste some time about doing animations that will be probably broken too.
So yeah, the running animation sucks. :p
Once I will start to have something clean on the code side I will be able to redo them properly !
Unfortunately : no.
The way how the characters are handle in the UDK make me unable to create a free climbing system. However, if the grid has a lot of points, you will not feel that your are on a grid. The movement between the points will be smooth.
I guess you go back to Source because you didn't have enough knowledge on the Unreal Engine ?

For the moment, UDK cannot be used on Linux/Mac and Console.
We must wait that EPIC release news version or adaptations.

I think not : source engin is not available on linux. And it's very hard to make a opengl version of the source engine (source is only dx9 actualy).

Not at all : the city is abandonned, like the island. At the start, but now, in the story, the island is used as a prison without guards. Today, the prisonners use the old houses, and that's why houses are illuminated. all of the city is not illuminated, just a small part.
