Are you talking about the original bugs in the game?
or in my design?

You are saying something :)
The problem is, that im not much more than a Level designer, and an artist.

I need people on board this project, who are familiar with the UDK, if thats going to happen.

The goal is not to dublicate.
It is to Recreate.

Things are very different today, than 10 years ago.
The project will make benefits of the things possible today, and avoid bugged designchoices, and balancing issues of the original design.

All in all, Daikatana is the vision of John Romeos game.
The vision hasnt changed, and can be experienced in the original Daikatana. A great game with flaws and bugs. But behind the cover of the book, created by the press, the game is infact great.

Daikatana Remake is a continuation and reboot of that vision.
A 2010 vision - a new beginning :)

Thats another thing im concerned about.
I get the impression that you are trying to show the most iconic things of C&C in your videos.

Mammoth, Guard Tower, Obelisk etc.

But one of the most iconic things in the original C&C, was actually how the walls was designed around the bases.

When i first played C&C, i instantly falled in love with the walls. I had never seen anything like that before.

And today, i really cant play an RTS without walls.
Its such a big strategic element in the game, that it would be unplayable without them.

So i really hope that you implement the walls in the game, as more than a simple gimmick.

They played one of the biggest roles in the original C&C, after all :)

The original C&C music was in fact great.
But the original C&C tracks, in the Tiberian Dawn TC, is not what im looking for.

For nostalgic purposes, yes, its great, but in 2010, it doesnt fit the game.

I really hope that the music of the game, is original, slow ambient music, which sets the mood. And not pumping metal tracks, as i am afraid of..

This is my most wanted mod ever.
I have always been a C&C fan to the bone, and the Original C&C are still being played frequently at my house (NOT the C&C95 edition. The original DOS version is the only way to go).

Almost everything so far seems perfect. The general direction is great.

BUT....

I just saw the new gameplay trailer. And the Music is awful.. Sorry to say that.
The same was the music in your first gameplay video..

I dont know why people in the C&C modding community thinks, that C&C music equals Heavy Metal.
It never has!. There was only a VERY few tracks in C&C with a few guitar riffs in them. Tracks heavy of guitar, is not what symbolises C&C and its universe, and i really ruins the atmosphere.

C&C symbolises a dark realistic age, with beautiful dark and ambient music.
Almost the excat opposite of the musical direction you are going.

I know why you want it this way.. I can see how it feel "Cool", when there is Heavy Metal, during a trailer, or gameplay video.

But it doesnt fit the universe at all, even though its a remake of a classic.
The music first of all BEFORE sounding like something from a Metal concert, must represent the games atmosphere.

The music from Tiberian Sun, Emperor Battle for Dune (and the original C&C) is a great example of this.
Great ambient music which fits the universe perfectly.

When i first read the synopsis, and reason for making this mod, based on the concept art, way back at the beginning of the project, i actually hoped, that for once, a modding team would take the universe very seriously - Not only the Models, Textures, and Maps - but also the Music, and for once, stand out of the crowd, and not going "Heavy-Metal-Look-at-how-cool-this-is!".

Apparently i was wrong..

But i will still follow this mod with great interest, as the professionalism in the modelling and texture work is far greater than your competitors... :)
