Most of you are making judgments without even playing the game, So this will be brief.
Regarding piercing damage being too effective... There are a total of 4 units in the game that have piercing damage, only one of which that is not a raider.
The damagetype of a unit does not define it's effectiveness. A unit's effectiveness has a lot of factors to it including: Range, amount of damage, aoe, armortype, unit speed, health...
Don't think that the equation is a simple one, and don't think that extensive testing has not been put into it.

Actually we're skipping alpha and going straight to beta, which will be fairly soon. I'll be making a newspost about it when it's close. Which won't be too far away now.
It can be played in single player, but the AI's are pretty simplistic. It is mainly intended for multiplayer games.

It is an rts game that runs upon the open source spring engine. Unfortunately I'm not a very good modeler, nor am I good with UVmaps. There is a lot of work to be done and I want to get started right away. The game itself (aside from tweaks in balance and things of that nature) is essentially done, but there is no way that it could be taken seriously with the models and textures in their current state.
The Game itself is licensed as CC-by-NC however if necessary your models/textures themselves could be copyrighted all rights reserved to you (with permission for them to be used in Evolution RTS).
