I remember playing this in 2011 with mixed feelings.

I can say that I have better feelings for it now after playing it again.

The design in the first few maps was decent enough, with some levels including level-made furniture which reminded me of some of the better maps in the WC-mappack. Not to mention the gameplay itself was fun enough.

However, it got worse as the game went on, and the puzzles didn't exactly work for me in some cases.

However, I enjoyed many of the levels except the ending ones where it looked like the mapper got lazy, and the I felt more fatigued as I kept playing what seemed like increasingly boring maps.

However, It ended on a high-note with the secret arena level that gave me some more of a rewarding ending, even if I couldn't use the secret HEV suit for long.

Not bad, but it certainly could have been better.

I can say that a lot of effort was put into this, just so I can come clean that there is something redeemable about this mod as whole... but, I just don't understand what I went through.

I can relate LZ to an obscure arthouse movie, with some people coming to a conclusion of their own regarding the meaning of what they had just endured. I came to the conclusion that I wasted my time installing this mod and slowly shuffling around a boring environment.

While I admit It was interesting playing as a zombie, there was little gameplay and the story never really amounted to anything.

I can't recommend this to anyone, really :(

While a little choppy, Ladder is a great gauntlet shoot-em-up with 30 waves to fight through with a highly destructible environment that keeps you on your toes as you fight heavier and more challenging (not to mention destructive) foes.

Not ground-breaking, but just apply an EP2 fix and you'll be sure to have a blast :)

Surprisingly effective in relieving stress.

I recall making similar setups in garrysmod when I was younger, although these are FAR more entertaining to play :D

Not very long nor is it very large, but Modular therapy is fun to relieve stress after a long day :)

Not a bad little mod if you ask me, but it is in serious need of polish in level design.

The gameplay itself is very straightforward, until it ends abruptly. Give this a go if you need another half-life fix, but otherwise, your time is better spent elsewhere.

Now this is what I call an expansion pack! :D

Bringing us back to the trenches of the Somme also brought new enemies, weapons and a much larger variety in gameplay!

While we do no return as Simon, we do, however, return with a familiar character, one of the main antagonists of the first game!

I was enthralled to play as a German soldier (A very rare opportunity, especially today) who sounded realistic and even likeable, with the lines of dialogue being considerably better written then the first game.

My biggest gripe with the first NecroVisioN was the lack of dual wielding past level six. This has changed, with the opportunity to dual wield ever more weapons for most of the game, before returning to Vampire weapons and the shadowhand :)

The level design is also much tighter and higher quality the first, and once again rewards players who have keen perception.

It goes without saying that this is one of the best expansion packs I've played in many years. While somewhat shorter then the first game, I won't lie I had more fun playing Lost Company over the first game.

Give this a go, if the first game caught your interest :)

Seeing the trailer for this game left me in an ecstatic state, the premise was just so surreal!

Granted, I've always wanted a realistic WW1 shooter, but Necrovision got a few things on my wishlist.

But, I have to admit, playing it for the first time in 2012 left me very disappointed. The game just wasn't optimized very well for ATI cards! Alongside a framerate that chugged, I was surprised by gameplay glitches and other snags, including a bug that prevented a bridge from extending, stopping me from crossing a dangerous railroad!

However, I couldn't deny the fun I was having with the game.

Dual wielding shovels, knives, grenades and other weapons with pistols was just ingenious, letting me take on enemies with whatever I damn well pleased alongside ww1 weapons that sounded powerful and gave me a surprisingly realistic kickback.

The enemies themselves were varied and the massive level design was dotted with secrets and little tidbits that rewarded keen explorers!

The story itself was very scatterbrained and many of the voice actors did a pathetic job in some areas, ruining some already silly dialogue. It also didn't help that upon entering level six, you loose a lot of dual wielding options :(

However, I have to give props to the VA behind the main character, Simon Bukner. His voice sounded genuine and his character development was very believable and likeable. Seeing a protagonist who went into a war for glory only to be horrified by what he sees before denouncing his choices and declaring all he cares about now is going home, was honestly very rare in FPS shooters at the time.

It also helped that Simon had some of the best dialogue in the game. There were even some poetic moments that I didn't think would ever occur in such a zany shooter.

NecroVisioN may not be for everyone, playing it a second time with a better rig and some helpful commands smoothed the FPS so be prepared before buying. Those looking for a satisfying shooter should be pleased. :)

The whole mod is unbalanced, both in terms of gameplay and design.

Many models are blocky while others are higher resolution (The same same goes for the textures) and the whole mod itself is rather unstable, having succumbed to a couple of crashes amongst a difficulty scale that goes up and down like a roller-coaster, especially on medium.

Which is a shame, the spooky first minutes of this mod were very effective at keeping me on edge and the level design isn't that bad either.

Give it a go if you need a half-life fix, otherwise, it's not worth the effort. :(

It's a shame this will never be completed, but for what has been finished, I can honestly say I have never had so much fun playing a game this year.

The levels, while graphically glitchy, were fun to blast through with such a large magnitude of weapons and different enemies to confront and the nice graphical enhancements show that the Max Payne 2 engine still has plenty of life left in it!

While not entirely finished, the few levels that are BETA will give the player plenty of enemies with a nice dosage of challenging gameplay.

Ten out of ten :D
