My name, as one might guess is Kriss and at the moment I am 17 years old. Quite passionate for all things visual, and if digital - even more! Been using Blender for 2 years now, learning something new every two days. I'm also into poster design (via Inkscape and Photoshop) and a bit of street-art (via posters) as well.. :P Don't be a stranger..

I have to disagree with that.. At least for me 3D modeling has opened a new way of exploring things.. (have gotten bit adventurous lately) I can have an excuse for wandering around the city and going to weird/uncommon (architecture wise I mean) places.. "I am gathering reference" I have gone a bit crazy about grungy old buildings and shapes found in the city, and those textures! I have started to pay a lot of attention to all kinds of small design'ish things, it's fun! @_@ K, I'll just end my rant.. :D

Nice idea and scene :)
The book seems a bit too "perfect" the pages lay on perfectly, the color of the pages is white and has no paper texture (I know there are these new book with nice matte pages, but still.. Though maybe that's just me )
Also, if you wanted to show the contents of the book (the quotes, wisdom etc.) you should raise the camera a bit and add more angle to it, because now the text is a bit hard to read. And there should be some stitches in the middle where the pages are connected.
So in short - add some more detail to the book (some imperfections, texture, stitches) Having a more natural paper texture would also make the image a bit warmer and it would nicely contrast with the blue key
But hey, in overall this image is awesome!
-Cheers!

Thanks! I am actually making a poster for a friend too! :D
As for printing :
Work in CMYK color space which is the space printers work in (converting might change some colors, it didnt do that for me, but thats because mine matched in sRGB space, which is default)
As for resolutions, nothing much to say, but printing needs a high res image.. When exporting vectors or painting stuff, select resolution - I recommend 600DPI which is pretty high.

As for papers, when I printed A4 I chose 220g/m^2 paper, which seemed quite good for a poster.
I have printed only solid color stuff, so I dont know how well they work with gradients etc. though if you print at a profesional place I think its no problem..

If there is anything else, just ask!
