I have no idea what might be causing it. That's the first time I hear about such problem 3 years after mod release, so I assume that might be a local issue. Either the mod is in conflict with another mod, or... I don't know. It's working flawlessly for me. Just tested it.
Please read the manual. Sword styles were redesigned. Fast style is for heavy armor - steel, scales, chitin, etc. For leather armor and skin use strong style. If you're not hitting an enemy you're dealing damage lower than opponent's damage reduction from armor.
Never had a Steam version of the game but mod's installer should find game installation directory automatically by reading it from Windows registry. If Steam doesn't save this data then you need to find the folder yourself. Game should be in Steam\steamapps\common\... directory, or something similar.

Yes, pretorians, final boss in Kasumi mission and Shadow Broker are tough opponents. Just remember to put one bullet in enemy in cease fire moments in order to reset shield regen cooldown.
Yes, all of the rest should apply immediately.
Drink Blizzard potion, position yourself correctly so you are not attacked from the sides and back, use diamond dust on sword to increase damage and use aard to stun and insta-kill one-two enemies. If nothing works retreat back to the gate where 2 town guards are standing. They will help you.

FCR doesn't modify dialogues and camera choice. What do you mean with "attempt to load while already in a save state"? Never encoutered these issues and never heard of them before.
Oh, just for clarification - changes introduced in the mod are global - there's no need for an update to make it work with Lair of the Shadow Broker, Arrival and any other DLC. All DLCs are already influenced by the mod.
Try redownloading latest version of the mod. It was an oversight in initial release of version 1.01 if I remember correctly. Version with shields blocking powers was available to download for one day, then it was fixed.

Yes. I'm sorry for the delay. A full playthrough is needed to ensure that one of the key new features in new version is working correctly and it's not causing progression breaks in quests. Testing is going smoothly and only days separate us from release.
It's ready and it's undergoing final testing. I hope to release it in the middle of next week. Hopefully at Wednesday.
New version is done and is currently in testing phase.
There will be one more cosmetic update and then it's done. No gameplay changes though, only installer, fix for antivirus alerts and skills descriptions, nothing more.

When we play with Adept or Vanguard class, our shields are marked as violet color on user interface. This is what I call barrier. The biotic skill barrier works as usual - if someone has it, it can be recast.
Sorry for vague description. For player it's only a color difference but for the game it's a different type of defence.
You can, but the mod will work only for shops which you haven't visited before. Info about merchandise in visited shops is stored in savegames. Mod cannot change savegame files.
I can make such option available but whole skill tree is balanced with the new mechanics in mind. You wouldn't be able to play vanilla game with only new skill tree and without rebalanced enemies.
Anyway, new version of the mod is comming and it will be even more customisable.
I have commented on it in mod's news section. It is a false positive, though I will fix it eventually when I finally find some time for this mod.
This is a bug from vanilla version of the game. This skill won't work, I can only remove it completely from the game to fix this issue.
These abilities upgrade only the corresponding attack, eg. Sinister I upgrades only the first attack in Group Silver Style, Sinister II only the second attack in Group Silver Style, etc.
These are the same mechanics as in vanilla game.
If talent descriptions remain after uninstalling the mod, replace dialog_*.tlk files with dialog_*.backup files. These files are located in The Witcher\DATA\ folder.
I'm quite busy lately, but I'll try to release new version soon. It'll remove this problem, add easier difficulty levels and many other improvements, along with 50 page pdf manual.

Please read bestiary entries in game journal. Ifrit is a specter type enemy. Use specter oil and Yrden. Specters recieve additional damage from magic - that means Yrden.
