The aesthetics of this mod are quite lovely, but I really wasn't impressed with the gameplay. I really hope you guys take some measures to make it more visceral and immersive rather than feeling like yet another Half Life 2 mod.
Are the shooting animations for the guns not working for anyone else?
You guys said in your faq there would be bullet wounds. I see none of the sort.

Thank God. I thought I was the only one with the spawning problems. Guys, apparently the LUA files that are included with the maps are no longer working for ANY Smod client. I have no idea what's going on or why this is happening...
This game is quite the achievement and I really enjoyed what I played. The story seems like such a mindfuck, and after all I went through, there's going to be four more chapters? Holy ****! Do you have everything written down already?

I'm going to add my thoughts on the demo. I might be attacked by rabid fans, but I have to let this out. I was watching this mod for a while now, and by the screenshots you've shown us, I was anticipating this first-person take on the world of Silent Hill to really engross me and soak me in its atmosphere.
You guys have nailed the art aspect. I really do like the textures and custom models you've done, but then I have seen that there are assets of Half-Life 2 being used, which almost immediately sucked me out of the atmosphere. I'm not sure if any of you mentioned you'd be using custom assets 100%, but the presence of these HL2 models remind me that this is a Half-Life 2 mod, and that is definitely not what I want to come to expect when playing this game. The HUD and sprint bar did not help at all either. I do not want to feel like I'm playing a mod of HL2 - the authenticity of the Silent Hill atmosphere was compromised a bit.
I also want to comment on sound, or more specifically music. In almost every level, there is ambience or music. While ambience can be very important, the fact that it is overused in the areas in the demo also damages the Silent Hill atmosphere (almost every room in the apartments had the same ambience). SH is all about subtlety, and one should really keep that in mind when trying to capture that atmosphere.
Sorry that I'm being really picky, I was just a little disappointed is all. I know this is a demo and you guys mentioned you don't have a programmer, but please consider finding one. Keep doing what you're doing, and I'll keeping watching until the final release.
This is masterfully put together. I dunno if you're still hanging around, but in case you are, I still have some troubles with pops, clicks, unexpectedly loud and static-sounding noises that I think are coming from CI. Does this have to do with certain campaigns?
I understand. I was only trying to emphasize my thought process upon seeing the trailer. No attacks intended, honest. :)
Now I see what you mean with the gas leak and siren, however, the way you presented it in this trailer does not signify any sort of "facility" or "gas leak" and therefore led me to believe it was only used as a cheap way to simply frighten viewers because it reminds them of the Silent Hill series. The only thing that would've been missing would be some lame immolation effects on the textures in real time to reveal the otherworld.
You must be easily impressed. I didn't mean for any hostility, but your response is a little over the top.

I have two issues with the mod. I hope you're still kicking around, because I love what I played so far.
1st: The mod seems to have a sound issue, not necessarily the one that has a fix, but the sounds are usually overlapped or stop mid-way, and it's very annoying. Sorry if this wasn't clear, but it's hard to explain.
2nd: In the Max Payne campaign, when I die, it doesn't load the last save and I have to manually go into the save file list and load again. Pretty inconvenient.

I'm stuck on Mine Control. I'm trying to pick up some Manhacks. When I do so, it makes the sorta rustling sound when you pick up a weapon, but it doesn't appear in my inventory and I can't select it. I guess it's under slot 4? I dunno.
If you know some other way to open the door at 7:55, please let me know. :P

It's hard for Barney to navigate around and I think it has to do with the nodes being out of date?
Hi there. I'm having a bit of trouble with this. I've got it all set up and everything, and things seem to be working fine...up until I got to Surface Tension. The part where you have to lead Barney to activate the panel to let you go further? Nearly impossible. I lead him there after he gets stuck in countless corners and he doesn't even press a thing. Also, every map's node graph is out of date apparently.
Also, I know you've instructed someone to set a parameter in the shortcut to access console, but I'm having a hard time finding exactly where to put it.
