So this is all made in GameMaker Studio?
I would put a warning somewhere. Something to the effect of "contains suggestive themes" or "contains mild sexual content". Something else you can do is create a page on your website ( [Parents]Is this safe for my kids? )that informs parents about the content in your game. Then they can make a decision on whether or not they allow their child to play.
So what kind of horror is going to go down in this hospital? Lights go out? Flickering lights that reveal blood stains on the walls? AHHHH!!!
Hello,
I am really liking your game SpookyQuest. I am a game programmer and would love to hear about how you implemented your lighting system in SpookyQuest. If you have the time, could you please give a high level overview of the technique and algorithm used to implement the lighting? I would love to implement a similar technique in my own 2d zelda like game.
Thank you for your time.
I would love to know how you accomplished this. It looks really good and smooth. Most attempts for implementing lighting in a 2d tile based game is either very simplistic, or looks awful. Good job.
It's kind of interesting that he can just walk underwater like that...
The text color may need to be darker or bolded so that it stands out more from the background.
This is looking pretty damn good. This brings back so many great memories of playing castlevania for hours. I love the pixel art!
Very well done. The game reminds me of super metroid a lot. Keep up the good work!
Are you graduating from college or just finished with the current semester?
BTW what's your degree?
Don't forget to take a break every now and then from working on the game. It will be good for your brain to rest, and reflect back on your work. Burn out is a nasty thing, so take some measures to avoid it.
Just a humble reminder :)
How does one get into freelance level designer? Word of mouth? Do you advertise on some website?
I still need to buy this game. I've heard so many good things about it! Any estimate on when chapter 2 will be released? Or at least when we'll see some screenshots/trailer for chapter 2?
It's good to hear that blackreef priates is not dead! I was a little worried. Take your time, because burnout is a horrible place to be in.
I can't wait to see this new platformer project of yours. It looks really interesting.
Yay a release date!
This looks really fun. It kind of reminds me of plants vs zombies, which is a very good thing. The pixel art style is awesome too! Keep up the good work.
Everything is so gorgeous! I love how the bird actually flies like a real bird, and the fire effect looks awesome. I'm excited to see more!

My education is in Computer Science. I use my programming skills to develop game mechanics, but I like visual design, UI/UX design, and level design the most. I mostly use Unity3d.
