The current world population:
Census.gov

This so called "Maintain humanity under 500,000,000 in perpetual balance with nature" means:

6,853,019,414 - 500,000,000 = 6,353,019,414 people to be murdered to path the way.

That anonymous founder of these guidestones should be ashamed of himself, shouldn't he?

Or maybe you are one of those who support his guidelines?

ya know, from a natural aspect, there are animals witch kill their own kids when they get too many, several birds and meerkats ( Image.hotdog.hu ) use to do that.

in south africa they shoot elephants, why? because there are so many that they eat everything up and they would have to starve and die afterwards.

i wonder how humanity is gonna solve the problem about over population. or like Vlad Tepes has done it, kill everyone who is starving and there will be no hunger anymore.

They are animals. We are also humans, beings capable of reasoning.

The overpopulation isn't a problem, the problem is food consumption and food waste by 1st/2nd World countries!

the overpopulation is a problem... a higher population means more than just more need for food you know, they all need a place to live, water, and some luxury items (although thats not necessary)

there's also a problem in third world countries of the government taking all the aid supplies that we send. Canada sends a lot of money every year to third-world countries only to have it taken by the gov't of that country. Also i only ever eat as much as i need, i'm not some pig who eats everything.

overpopulation is a problem because we'll need more places for people to live, so we expand our cities into the country. This gets rid of good farming land and reduces the amount of food we can produce. In addition we use good clean drinking water for everything aroudn the house (toilets, sinks, showers etc.) soon we'll run out of water as well. It is inevitable that we'll run out of some resource one day but for now our focus should be reducing the population, i don't think we should start killing people yet as we're not in that bad of a situation, but i believe we should regulate the amount of children we all have as well as regulate the amount of food, water and space we use up.

Banksters also take the aid money as their payment for debts they've created.

Do you need to kill people to have more space? No. But the alternative brings you closer to a more socialist/social system, where more and more people must live in multifamily houses (MULTIMULTIfamily houses). Unless everyone wants to have everything urbanised...

Well then Socialism is the only way:
Option 1: Kill everyone until there are 500,000 people left (out of the qeustion really)
Option 2: The way it is now, expand cities into the country-side destroying farmland and pushing the worlds resources to the limit (Shortages of food, water, and space ensue)
Option 3: the so called "Socialist" way, build up and not out, have multi-family houses if its necessary. There is enough farmland to supply food to the population, the only problem is that this doesn't solve the water problem.

so i guess you have to choose. Will it be Death or so called "Socialism"? or would you rather leave it the way it is...

This is obviously fake, look at the text and the angle it is on the stone. Photoshopped, and if it sin't then its still a joke. No one can be stupid enough to kill off that many people.

WTF?

These are real ones. I'll upload more of them.

No one is so stupid to announce that he funded them! Because the funder was/is anonymous! And probably will!

There is a big difference between an ideal and murdering billions to achieve that ideal. For example, I would personally love to live in a society without religion. To be honest, I hate religion, passionately; it clouds the rational judgement of human beings and slows scientific and cultural development. However, this does not mean I want all religious people dead! Or even some religious people! (Ok, maybe Fred Phelps...) Likewise, I am a profeminist; doesn't mean I'm going to start killing every man I see (that would be rather hypocritical for starters, not to mention morally wrong!)

When a person states an opinion, it does not mean they want to kill everyone that does not share that opinion! The world would be a much scarier place if that was true.

that's exactly what i'm saying, just because they way this doesn't mean they're gonna kill everyone except 500 million, that's ridiculous. It's bad to assume anything because you don't know if it's true or not, and if you don't have a strong foundation for your argument then you're bound to fail. Plus as my parents always say, "assume" makes an "***" of "u" and "me" :D

There is a difference.

And there is a difference between:
It would be nice to have humanity under 500,000,000
and
Maintain humanity under 500,000,000

A clear commandment.

Yeah, and during debates I say **** like "Religion is the single greatest cause of human suffering in the long term" and "Patriarchy and those that support it represent the single largest system of repression in human history" and I make it evidently clear that I would love to see both these social systems destroyed and done away with. However, to kill every religious person, or every man, on the planet (or even a sizable portion!) would create far too much suffering for it to be the morally correct thing! Even in emperical terms, there is no justification for mass death to bring about social change.

I command **** all the time! I want more than anything a mandatory high school course on human rationality. It is the thing I want more than anything in the world. I will go so far as to say that I demand it from our society and I consider the lack of such a course a failure. However, I am not going to kill the people who make that impossible, and I don't wish death on them either!

I think it'd be totally awesome if the population stabilized at five hundred million. If I ruled the world with an iron fist and a legion of doombots, I'd set things up to encourage a population figure around thereabouts. However, I wouldn't actually be preventing any suffering by killing people until the population hit that mark, so doing so would be a rather bad idea.

Does that make sense?

i think the only think that doesn't make sense is the fact that Feillyne is still insisting this. There is no evidence that this person plans on killing all but 500 million people. It doesn't matter how he says what he says people are still gonna see some cospiracy where there is none. TBH though they are called the Georgia Guidelines right? it's supposed to be solid liek that. Laws have to be solid in order for people to actually follow them.

Solid laws.

Hahahaha. :-) For MATERIALISTIC, caste-based people, where there are elites, and the poor, and the RULING, true, true, there need to be laws.

But not for the new world, where there will be only equal people. No more businessfuckers, elites, or self-claimed rulers.

Hey, you know that the problem with that is? The moment everyone is equal, nobody is, because there will always be somebody smarter and more willing to do what is nessesary to take power. There will always be an imbalance, if simply because of genetics, and that imbalance will only grow over time.

If you want equality, you have to enforce it. The ultimate irony of human society is that the only way to make everyone equal is to put somebody in charge and task them with enforcing a reasonable degree of equality. Otherwise, the strong will simply take charge over the weak by force.

it's true, i'm a communist and i'd love to see everyone equal, but in order to do that you need to remove greed from everyones mind essentially changing who we all are. if everyone is equal there will be some greedy person who wants more and ruins it for everyone else. That;s the way it goes... like sketchbook said we have to enfore it, that's the only way.
