I'm a game developer for a game company in Iceland called Gogogic, I'm a member of the Icelandic Gaming Industry and I'm the ModDB manager of Forgotten Hope 2 mod. I also make sure FH2 has pretty pictures on release days as well as some minor artwork stuff. I'm a big fan of modding in general wether it is fancy artwork or creative thinking within the limited box some mods are faced with their chosen game engines.

I'm FatJoe, one of the mod developers of Forgotten Hope 2, an established and respected 13 year old mod. And I'm absolutely SHOCKED by the behavior here.

You've quite blatantly taken work from Forgotten Hope 2, the work of multiple developers over a decade period, and you've claimed it as your own without asking permission or attributing any of the work to our developers. On the contrary you state that using "your" resources is strictly forbidden in other mods. What an utter utter disgrace!

And on top of that you state that we "must have misunderstood" and have your ilk come in and defend you with "no, you must be wrong". What a disgrace. You should be ashamed MXing, for STEALING the work of others honest developers.

Make no mistake that files are stolen. This can be simply fact checked by downloading both mods and and comparing .tweak and .con files. The Silenced StenMkII is a good candidate, but there it clearly states, in both files, that ObjectTemplate.modifiedByUser "natty". Natty was on our development team for a long while and did important work for Forgotten Hope 2, not for it to be STOLEN by dishonest and disgraceful modders like yourself!

Anyone seen defending these actions should also be ashamed, what an utter disgrace for STEALING the work of others and claiming it as their own! I am absolutely shocked!

Apologize for the late update, this was actually posted on the 7th of August on our homepage, Fh2mod.org , but as with some of us taking longer vacations than others, our ModDB page became a bit out of sync. That should be fixed now :)

Like KodY mentioned, we've already covered the Infantry bit :)

I do believe we did reduce the recoil a bit, though it does keep in tradition with the FH2 system of not compensating for the recoil for the player, The player has to pull the weapon down, but maybe to a less force now. That and the removal of Crosshairs give Rifles a disadvantage at CQB

I say give it a chance ;)

yes I believe we'll keep the ability to not play with some of the effect, tied to, I think, the 'terrain setting' in 'graphics settings'. It might mean lower texture res for the ground though, but really the updated version of the film grain isn't that noticeable, especially when in motion, in game.

The old film grain effect can be seen on couple of these screenshots. To clarify, the effect has been reduced since those screenshots. It's also less visible in full motion, ingame.

For some extra comments on the effects feel free to check out the forum thread here: Fhpubforum.warumdarum.de :)

I can't say for sure how much it was used though or how effective it really was, but it did see action in the Second World War :)

Would love to but simply don't have the money for the travel from Iceland
Not that I can compare it with a 14 hour trip from Oz..

However there's a plan for GDC San Fran next year, hope to see ya there instead!
