You could make a really nice scene with those kinds of 3d models - perhaps a desk scene with a lit cig smoking in the ashtray. HDR is a very good way to add realism. Keep it up

Yes, the visual style, the story, the characters, the music can be considered art in their own right. For me however, the whole interactive process of allowing players to engage with characters and objects within a virtual universe, is a fascinating part of any computer game.

In general, computer interaction is used as a practical application, and its only games what makes it fun, enjoyable and perhaps even artistic. I enjoy the fact that when I play a game; make choices and randomly prod it, it responds in a way that is custom to my senseless prodding… Hoorah for prodding, erm… I mean gameplay.

P.S. Good article btw, and i didn't have time (or couldn't be bothered to read all the comments) so I don't know if the point I mention has already been covered.

Nice idea... tho I do have a concern over one of the gameaply features, and that's the ability to turn on/off the safety of a gun... Its a nice idea on paper, but the main question is... why would the player turn ON the safety? Of course you could a system, where the player could accidently shoot him self in the foot, when they jump from a high spot... tho that might look funny. Or you could have limited ammo, and the atmosphere could perhaps make the player jump and start shooting at stuff that ain't there... therfore having the safety ON would be a tactical move... just some ideas i'm throwing out for ya there.
