In my opinion it's one of the best scifi shows going, in terms of production and content, also gun battles!!

Th other great thing is it doesn't take itself too seriously

let me know how it goes for you because I have had problems with 1.5.

1.4.4 was amazing though!

it just makes a new campaign within kingdoms, it comes with it's own launcher.

If you go to the forum it tells fixes after install. It comes with an automatic installer so all you have to do is make sure it installs within your M2:Kingdoms folder.

Combining the parts I explain in my earlier post.

Ok let me see if I can answer some of your questions.

I think the file is too large for moddb.

when you have downloaded all the parts you have to have them in the same folder, then right click and select extract, using winrar or 7zip, and it will recompile all the file parts into the one setup file.

As to the download speeds, the hosting sites run a premium/non-premium service, so unless you pay the download speeds are slower, on the fourth mirror for the small parts I got it at about 320kbs.

The development team as far as I know is almost exclusively russian, and they have a forum that they watch more closely I think (at the download mirror site) I think there is one guy who runs this page but how often it is checked I do not know.

I found the fourth mirror to be the best (in the small parts download section)

It may also be that they have suspended the download themselves if they have seen that 1.5 is currently glitching badly?

yes you do need the kingdoms expansion to run it. The mod is a really awesome effort, just look at the screenshots of all the units they have made...unfortunately it seems like something is wrong in the 1.5 version..I tried all the suggestions to try to fix it on the forum with no luck, it is not surprising that their are problems though as from what I have read 1.5 is a massive overhaul, especially graphically so I imagine it is something in that that is not quite right yet... but the new content that they have added sounds amazing! So much new stuff so I really hope thye can find the issue..

as a side note, what graphics settings are you guys running it on? because i have mine set pretty much to maximum, especially screen res. so I was wondering if that might have something to do with it?

I think it is just that some units are either new or do not have the text translted into english yet, so in the english version there is no name, hence the placement text.

Also are you getting any 'unspecified error' crashes?

because I cannot get past turn 1 or 2 if I am lucky without a crash, I have installed it a couple of times and tried all the tips on their forum but no success...

I found I was able to download all the parts at the same time from the Mirror 4 gigabase site, it still took a couple of hours but I didn't have to watch over it so 2 hours is a doddle hehe

Hi guys what about a system similar to the Sims(particulary the Sims 2 desert Island stories or something like that) basically it would be close to a combination of the two ideas you have, in the sims game you collect resources, and then depending on what resources you have or your skill level (i think) it allowed you to build diffent types of wall or object, then you build your shelter one wall piece at a time, the more skill and resources you have the stronger the type of shelter you could build and the less time you would need to spend repairing it from storm damage etc. you can also have prefab style buildings that you placed as a completed structure when you had gathered enough resources.

I think this would be good as it gives you an RTS view which is good for being able to see the space you have and where to place your walls etc. which is often difficult and a bit fiddley in FP. So you get the freedom to be creative with the ease of control of being able to see your plan.

Alternatively you could have some kind of 'Blueprint' screen, where you take an area of the land, put it done on paper than plan out your stucture in a 2D or 3D plan (whatever planning system you felt worked best) choosing the types of material etc. and it keeps a running total of the resource requirements, then when you are done planning you gather the resources and place it down RTS style as the finished building, perhaps with a construction time, which is essentially automated. (either with your character moving around building it or just an X time passes and it's done system)

The game is looking really cool :-)
